Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira

The region of Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira is situated in the disputed territory of Western Sahara. The region has a population of around 99,000 and the coastal city of Dakhla is its capital.

The region includes the prefecture of Aousserd and the province of Oued Ed-Dahab, and covers an area of 142 865 square kilometers. Dakhla is the main attraction in the region of Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira. The people here are very welcoming and the town certainly has its own vibe. There are plenty of opportunities for long relaxing walks that will take you to the old Spanish lighthouse or up to the tip of the peninsula of Dakhla. Spanish architecture dots the town, mostly consisting of military structures. Fishing is a popular activity here and swimming can be enjoyed to the north of the town.
