Touring Routes – From the Valley of Roses to Todra Gorge

Below is a guide to a few of the fascinating travel routes and touring routes in Morocco. Largely due to its diverse historical influences, Morocco has many varied tours to suit your fancy. From beautiful roses to endless valleys, there's a touring route that will leave you inspired!

  • Kasbahs
    Kasbahs are walled citadels, fortresses or medinas. Alternatively it can refer to an old section of a city. Some Kasbahs have been converted into hotels. Kasbahs in Morocco include Aït Benhaddou, the Kasbah of Tifoultout and Kasbah du Toubkal. Many tour operators offer excursions to the fantastic Kasbahs of Morocco.
  • Ait Benhaddou
    A fascinating fortified city, situated along an old caravan route. It is also a location used to make many movies, such as Lawrence of Arabia and Jesus of Nazareth. Exploring this interesting attraction makes for a fantastic tour.
  • Valley of Roses
    An excellent trekking area with beautiful sights of roses used to make perfume. There are many attractions, tours and establishments in the Valley of the Roses.
  • Dades Valley
    Strange rock formations, old Kasbahs and lots of accommodation can be found in this valley of the high Atlas Mountains. Many tour operators offer tours of this scenic region of Morocco.
  • Todra Gorge
    One of the most beautiful sights in Morocco, the gorge is situated at the head of the mountains where they cut down into the watershed. A concrete road leads past a few hotels situated at the opening of the Gorge and to the villages of Imilchil, Tamtatouchte and Ait Hani.
  • Fossils
    Stalls selling fossils to collectors can be found all over on the southern roads. Alnif is a main resource for serious collectors. Tour operators can take you on specialized trips to gather fine specimens in areas such as Kem Kem, Issoumour and Erfoud.
  • Erg Chebbi Dunes
    Morocco’s extraordinary sand dunes are most excellent and can be explored more easily on the back of a camel or during a 4×4 tour. Tours often begin in Merzouga.
