The Roman Ruins of Volubilis, Morocco Not the best day for exploring the ruins of Volubilis from the 3rd century B.C. Rainy and Windy. Volubilis was an important Roman town with stunning mosaiacs (the rain brought out the intense colors), a vomitorium (I kid you not), along with other fun and "unusual relics" that you'll just have to watch the video to learn about. Volubilis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best preserved Roman ruins in northern Africa. An easy stop on the route between Meknes and Fes/Fez and worth seeing.
