The Medina of Rabat and On To Meknes, Morocco
http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Rabat has a very interesting and ancient Medine or "Kasbah", whatever you choose to call it. Charming with blue doors, hands of Fatima to ward off the evil eye surrounded by the old fortified walls. Before an earthquake in 1700's, the walls were 12km/7 miles around. A fast stop in one of the local grocery shops for goodies and then back on the bus to Medknes, Imperial City Number Two for one evening. A Riad for dinner (Riads are old houses that have reinvented themselves as hotels and restaurants), sleep and preparation for in depth sightseeing of Meknes the next day.
