  • More About the Front Corridor

I decided that the ceramic floor tiles of the lower level corridors should be different than the white tiles with dark brown specks.. The tiles are Moroccan design ceramic floor tiles. The tiles are white background with wine, leaf green and medium brown design. There are matching ceramic tile moldings at the bottom of the walls and columns that are low lustre white or stucco columns. This will be more colorful. The walk thru tiles are still low lustre white.
The credenzas in the front corridor are brown stain with leaf green enamel hand painted design.
The entrance to the Cafe is recessed 3 1/2 feet. The recessed area is 7 feet wide. There is a round antique brass mosaic ceiling light fixture centered above the entrance recessed area to the Cafe. There also is anothere same light fixture centered in the corridor and the entrance to the Cafe. There also are the same kind of light fixture centered in the corridor and the center window to the Cafe. There is a brass recessed light fixture above the dark brown porcelin pot with the red antheriums in them.

When you enter the shoe closet by either door. (The doors are double 2 1/2 feet wide) When you enter there is the luggage closet in the front right and left corners of the shoe area. The luggage closets are 7 feet x 7 feet size. They are planked brown stain. The ceilings are also planked. The floor to the shoe closet and the luggage closets are dark brown ceramic 12 inch x 12 inch tiles. There is a antique brass light fixture centerd in the luggage closets. They have white opaque glass covers. The switch is located on the wall to the side of the entrance doors. The switch is dark brown with antique brass metal plate covers. There are brown stain wood sectioned cabinets for the suitcases. The cabinet is slotted. Straight ahead there is a unit of seven slots high. There are two sections against the wall. To the side of the door there is a vertical unit with 2 slots in the bottom section and 2 in the top sections. There not really cabinets. They are slotted units for the suitcases. Each luggage closet has 18 suitcases.
The shoe closet section is 17 feet wide x 35 feet long. The ceiling is brown planked. The back wall is brick and the side walls are brick. The front wall is brick 3 1/2 feet high and the upper part of the wall is papered dark maroon like the stairwells. There is a rectangle mirror hanging on the front wall in between the entrance doors to the shoe closet. The mirror is 3 feet high x 5 feet long with an ornate antique brass frame. There is a 15 feet diameter carpet in the center of the shoe closet. The carpet is dark maroon/off white/black/medium brown design. There is a round Moroccan brown pedestal table in the center of the carpet. The table is 4 feet diameter. This is for sitting when putting on your shoes. The table has a large wood pedestal. There are 2 matching carpets to the left and right of the round carpet. The side carpets are 9feet x 12 feet size.
There is a ceiling fan like the other ceiling fans on the lower level. The ceiling fan does not have a light. There are four laterns in the shoe closet. They are centered with the entrance doors and they are 4 feet in from the walls. One each side of the room in the front and one each side of the room from the back. The switch for the lanterns is located on the wall to the right side of the right entrance doors. The dimmer switch for the fan is also located here. There is also a switch to the left side of the left entrance doors for the lanterns on that side. The lanterns are antique brass mosaic design lanterns and they are ornate.
More about the shoe closet tomorrow.

    • The Shoe Closet

First I decided that the center light fixture in the front corridor should also be a lantern. The lantern is the same as the ones in the shoe closet. The laterns in the shoe closet are 4 feet in from the front and back walls of the room. The lanterns are centered with the 8 1/2 foot walls to the left and right of the entrance doors to the shoe closet. The fan only has a light fixture if there is one to match the lanterns. The switches for the fan and light fixture are located to the right of the right entrance door to the shoe closet. Next to the dimmer switches there is the switch for the right side lanterns. The switch for the left side lanterns is to the left of the left entrance doors.
There are cabinets around the room. The front of the room has 7 feet of cabinets in between the entrance doors. These cabinets are for guests. There are two 3 1/2 foot wide cabinets and the doors are 1 1/2 feet wide. The cabinets are Moroccan red/brown with antique brass hindges and handels. There are 8 1/2 feet of cabinets to the right and left of the entrance doors. These cabinets are 3 feet in the center and 2 3/4 to the right and left. The center doors are 1 1/4 and the right and left doors are 1 1/4 wide. The cabinets are 3 feet high. All of the cabinets are 1 1/4 feet deep. Mohamed shoes go to the right and My shoes go to the left. We each have the 3 feet wide center cabinets. Maboto and Abdul have the cabinets to the right and left. I have the left center cabinet and Neeta has one side and Amarra has the other. There are 12 feet of cabinets on each of the side walls. This is for the girls. They each have 4 feet of cabinet for shoes and handbags and storage. The side cabinets are 5 feet high.
The back wall is 35 feet wide. There are two 2 feet brick columns. The columns are located 10 feet in from the left and right of the side walls. The columns are 2 1/2 feet wide and 1 1/2 feet out from the back wall. There is ten feet of cabinets in the center of the wall. The boys have 2 1/2 foot wide cabinets each with 1 1/4 wide doors. The right and left boys cabinets are 5 feet high. The center cabinets are also 5 feet high. There is a large round brown wood framed clock on the back center wall above the center storage cabinet.
The round center table for sitting on is brown stain.
The center carpet is 14 feet diameter and it is round. The right and left carpets are 9 x 13 feet size.
There are V sconce on the back brick columns. They are 5 feet high and they are centered. The right and left switches also control the V sconces.

      • More About the Corridor/Shoe Closet/Cafe

I decided that the floor tiles of the lower level corridors should stay white tiles with dark brown specks. This will look better. That's the back corridor, the right and left side corridors and the front corridor. The light above the Cafe entrance is antique brass light fixture with wine color bulb. Instead of the center lantern the light fixture is round antique brass mosaic light fixture.
The credenzas are brown stain with wine color enamel hand painted design.
The glass in the kitchen cabinet doors is shatter proof glass.
The luggage closet. The luggage units have wood across the back and sides. This way the walls will not get scratched up. The suitcases go into the slots long ways so the handels face out of the slots.
The shoe closet carpet is rectangle and is 14 feet x 27 feet size.
The shoe closet ceiling is brown stained planked.
There is a 1 1/2 foot x 1 1/2 foot ornate brick column in each of the back right and left corners of the back wall. Then working toward the center of the wall there is a 10 foot cabinets each side. These are the boy's cabinets and they are 2 1/2 feet wide x 5 feet high. the doors are 1 foot wide. Then there is another 1 1/2 foot x 1/ 1/2 foot ornate column. And then there is a 6 feet high x 10 feet wide center cabinet for storage. There are four 2 feet wide drawers along the bottom of the cabinet. The drawers are for Maboto and Abdul.
The center cabinets are 2 1/2 feet wide with 1 foot wide doors.
There are cabinets along the front wall. They go to the right and left to the corner by the luggage closet. At the corner the wall turns into the room and is 1 1/4 wide. Then there are 3 feet wide Moroccan red/brown doors to the shoe closet. The doors stained frames and molding. Past the doors on the side wall are the girl's cabinets. They are 3 1/2 feet wide and 5 feet high. The doors are 1 1/2 feet wide. The cabinets go to the back corner columns.
There is an outlet next to the left side switch for the left side light fixtures. This would be for the vacumn.
Along the front cabinets on the 8 1/2 foot long wall. Mohamed has a 4 1/2 foot center cabinet on the right side. Maboto and Abdul have the side cabinets. I have the 4 1/2 foot wide cabinet at the left center and Neetaand Amaraa have the side cabinets. There are two sets of 1 foot wide doors to the 4 1/2 foot cabinets. The doors to the children's cabinets are 11 inches wide.

The Cafe: Whem you enter the Cafe from the kitchen, the doors are Moroccan red/brown with Moroccan red/brown frame and moldings on the kitchen and brown stained moldings on the Cafe side.
The back part of the Cafe is 32 feet wide x 12 1/2 feet side walls. Then the side walls turn to the left and the right where the wall continues 6 feet each side. On the left side there is an 8 foot x 10 foot bathroom. On the right side there is an 8 foot x 10 foot refrigeration unit, like the kind you see in a store.
At the bathroom side the Moroccan red/brown entrance door to the bathrroom is straight ahead when you make the turn. The door frame and moldings are brown stain. The wall continues over toward the front wall of the Cafe for a total of 10 feet including the bathroom entrance door. At the front wall the wall goes 4 feet back toward the center and then it turns and goes out toward the corridor for 2 feet. The 2 feet extension continues for 36 feet across the front of the Cafe. The walls are similar on the other side of the Cafe except that the refrigeration unit takes up the 8 feet x 10 feet area. This is an outline of the Cafe.
There is only one bathroom and this is used for people in the Cafe. The children can also use the Men's and Women's bathrooms at the back of the lower level.
More about the Cafe next time.

        • The Cafe

There are a few things before the cafe. Around the corners from the right and left side corridors there is a 1 1/2 foot wide column at the front corner of the corridor. After the corner columns there is 6 1/2 feet of brick wall and then there is another 1 1/2 foot column before where the 2 feet Cafe extension starts. There is an entrance door to the refrigeration unit next to the left corner column. There is a square shiny brass climate control vent located center ceiling and the 6 1/2 foot wall. Both sides are the same except for the entrance door to the refrigeration unit.
The cradenzas are brown stain with gold handpainted design. Inside the shoe closet the three feet high cabinets have the bottom section and three shelves for shoes. The five foot high cabinets have the bottom section and four shelves for shoes.

The Cafe. The bathroom is located at the front left of the Cafe. This is left of the kitchen door up front. The floors of the Cafe and the bathroom are medium brown tiles with gold specks. The tiles are shiny. The walls odf the bathroom are planked with brown stain wood with ornate upper and floor moldings. The ceiling is also brown stain planked. The upper walls are papered with medium brown vinyl wallpaper with dark wine colored flowers. The flowers are about 1 inch size. The latrine is located toward the back right side wall in a 4 feet x 4 feet area and the sink is located at the front far right wall in the front 4 feet x 4 feet area. The latrine is sensor with shiny brass pipes. The latrine and the sink are white porcelin. The sink is a wall sink and also has shiny brass faucet, pipes, shutoffs and supply lines. The sink is 1 1/2 feet wide. There is an oval beveled mirror above the sink. the mirror has shiny brass frame. There is a light fixture above the mirror on the wall. The light fixture is shiny brass with light wine colored glass shades. The light switch is located on the wall to the right of the bathroom entrance door. The switch is dark brown and the metal cover is shiny brass.
There ia a brown stained hutch against the wall past the door opening. The door is open and the hutch is against the wall. The hutch has toilet paper in the 2 bottom center drawers. In the right storage area there is liquid hand soap bottles. In the left storage section there is powdered bleach cleanser. There are paper towels in the hutch top right and left storage sections.
The shiny brass paper towel holder is located on the wall to the right side of the sink mirror. There is a white rubber waste can for paper towels if you prefere to use them. There is an electric hand dryer on the wall. About 7 feet inside the bathroom.
The bathroom door has an antique brass door knob that has a turn lock from the inside of the bathroom.
          This is the Cafe bathroom.

          • Some Changes with the Cafe Bathroom/The Cafe

I decided that the upper walls of the Cafe bathroom should be dark green like the kitchen ceramic tiles. the upper wallpaper also has dark wine colored flowers about 1 inch size. There is a sink cabinet and the cabinet is three feet wide. The cabinet is brown stained wood cabinet. The counter top is dark brown/Moroccan red/brown granite counter like the counters in the kitchen. There is a shiny brass soap dispensor on the wall above the sink backsplash. The soap dispensor is on the wall on the right side above the sink.
There is dark green vinyl wallpaper lining the sink cabinet and there are brown stained mitered moldings around the inside edges of the cabinet. The soap refill bottles are kept under the sink along with white powdered bleach cleanser and toilet cleaner. There is a wine colored rubber soap dish kept under the sink which holds nylon scrubbie for cleaning the sink.
The electric hand dryer is shiny brass. There is a wine colored rubber waste trash can by the back wall between the hutch and the latrine. The waste can is semi-circle and the flat side is against the wall. The toilet bowl brush and holder is kept in the back corner to the left of the sink cabinet.
The paper towels are kept in the right and left storage sections of the huch. The center three drawers hold toilet paper.
There is a blue and white Delft vase that my mother gave me when she returned from her trip to Holland. The vase is kept in the center shelf and there are artificial purple violets with green stems in the vase. There is a crystal bowl with a 5 inch diameter wine colored candle. This is kept on the base top in the center. The candle does not get lit. There is a crystal Biscuit barrel in the right and left corners of the top of the hutch base.
The lower walls are brown stained planked as well as the ceiling.
I decided not to have the entrance door to the refrigeration unit outside in the front corridor. Instead the dorr is located on the right side of the unit. The unit and bathroom are 8 feet x 10 feet size. The refriunit is stainless steel. There is the entrance door and then there are three 2 1/2 wide double doors to the refrigration shelves. The doors to each section are 1 feet 2inches wide.
The floor tiles are medium brown which is dark and goes with the brown stain planking and furniture. This includes the Cafe floors, the bathroom floor and the refrigeration unit floor. The compressor for the refrigeration unit is located under the bottom inside of the unit. Inside there is the bottom and there are three additional shelves. More about the refrigeration unit after the Cafe.

The library changed their computer program and now instead of 1 hour you only get 30 minutes. If there are empty computers they let you have additional ten minutes as long as there are still empty computers. This is why the pages have been shorter than they use to be.

The Cafe is also planked brown stain three feet high with ornate floor and upper moldings.. The upper walls are wallpapered dark green vinyl wall paper. The ceiling of the Cafe is medium brown ornate suspended ceiling. The entrance doors to the Cafe from the kitchen are Moroccan red/brown. The Cafe side the moldings are brown stain. The double doors are 2 1/2 feet wide. The doors have 12 inch x 12 inch glass window in the upper part of the door. The doors to the shoe closet also have clear glass window in the upper part of the doors.
            Next time decorating the Cafe.

            • Redesigning the Bathroom/Decorating the Cafe

I decided that the wallpaper in the bathroom should be dark wine color vinyl wallpaper. The paper has three inch wide wine colored stripe, then there is a 1/4 inch wide dark green stripe and next there is a row of 1 inch size white flowers with dark green leaves and then another 1/4 inch dark green stripe. This is how thw wallpaper continues.
The granite sink counter is dark wine color and white swirl granite. The light fixture is located in the center of the ceiling. The fixture is antique brass round with cutouts in it for the light to shine through. The switch plate is also antique brass.
There is wine/dark green/white pot purri in the crystal barrels in the right and left corners of the hutch base top. The biscuit barrels are embossed. There is a band around with etched flowers. The band around the base is scallopped. The lid fits into the top of the barrel and also is embossed and there is a round crystal knob on the top of the barrel. The cut crystal bowl my mother bought for me when we were at the flea market on Saturday morning. My daughters were also with us. My mother has been gone for quite a long time now.
The semi-circle waste trash can is dark green like the tiles in the kitchen.
There are brick tiles around the edges of the front corridor, the right and left side corridors and the back corridor. The brick tiles come out long way from the walls. There are brick tiles along the lower part of the plaster walls of the corriodrs and the stucco columns. The brick tile molding go along the walls long ways.

The cafe: The entrance doors to the Cafe from the kitchen are 5 feet wide double doors. There is a brown stained wood booth to the right and left of the doors. These first booths are 5 feet wide and 4 feet deep. In the right and left corners there are another booth. The corner booths are 7 feet square. The back corner is triangle cut with a wood shelf. Around the corner there is another 5 foot x 4 foot booth. There is a diagonal entrance to the 7 feet x 7 feet booth. the side walls are 12 1/2 feet long. The back wall is 32 feet long and the corner booth and the 5 feet booth take up 12 feet each side of the door from the kitchen. This means there is 1 /2 feet each side of the kitchen door.
There is an antique brass half bowl sconce centered on the inside wall of the booths. The 7 foot wide booth has 2 sconces because it is located in the corner. The antique brass half bowl sconces are mosaic sconces with maroonish red/ gold/wine colored stain glass mosaics.
The brown stained planking is 3 1/2 feet high with ornate floor and top moldings. The upper walls are dark green vinyl wallpaper. The Cafe ceiling is 9 feet high. The bathroom and refrigeration unit ceilings are 8 feet high

              • More About the Cafe

I decided that there should not be a step up to the Cafe and the other rooms in the 60feet x 65 feet center area of the lower level. We have enough steps.
The front extension is an extra 2 feet x 37 feet size. The Cafe entrance doors are two three feet wide double doors. They are antique brass with a push rail to go out. There is glass windows in the upper and lower sections of the doors. There is 6 inches either side of the doors. The doors are recessed into the Cafe 3 1/2 feet. There are two booths either side of the doors. The booths are brown stain wood. They are 4 feet deep x 5 feet wide. All of the booths have a dark brown vinyl cushion on the seats. The booths by the doors extend 6 inches into the Cafe.
At the end of the last booths there are a cabinet that fits into the area between the end booths and the wall at the end of the 37 feet x 2 feet extension. The cabinets fit in nicely. The cabinets are 5 feet wide. They have two double doors in the center and another door at the right and left sides. This makes four front doors to the cabinets. The end sections do not have a helf inside but the center section has one shelf. There also are two 1 1/4 feet drawers in the top of the center sections. The right cabinet the drawers have knives, forks and spoons. There are napkins in the left side section. There are cereal boxes in the right side section. The juice glasses are kept on the upper shelf.
The left cabinet has tea and sugar on the upper shelf and coffee in the lower section. The coffee filters for the coffe urn are kept in the left section. There are also napkins in the right section. I do not have anything to keep in the drawers at this time.
There is a round window above the booths by the doors. The windows are on the wall around the corner from the entrance doors. The windows have antique brass grill sectioned 4 x 4 inch sections of window. There are three front windows each side of the entroors. They are centered above the front booths and the cabinets. The windows are arced with a stain glass panel at the top above the 3 x 3 feet windows. The center windows are 3 1/2 feet x 3 1/2 feet size. The outer windows have stainglass piture of men on camels in the desert with blue sky. They are headed toward the center and that window is of the fortress in Morocco.(I think) Some kind of stain glass like that. Mohamed would decide the design. Something Moroccan.
There ia another cabinet against the wall to the right of the entrance door to the bathroom. The cabinet may be stainless steel and it is 4 feet wide x 7 feet high. This is where the coffe machine is located. It is like coffee machines in McDonald's. The machine is located to the right of the base top. Toward the center there is the area where the coffee cups are kept. They come out from the kitchen on trays and they set in the center where they rest on springs. Several trays can go down onto the springs. The coffe saucers also rest on springs and come up as used. There is also a rosection for teaspoons. In fact there are two round sections for the spoons. The spoon holders are located between the coffee machine and the coffee cup storage section/ This coffee machine is hooked up to water supply and there is also drain pipes for cleaning the pot. The coffee machine has running water for rinsing the pots and also for tea. This is a rough idea of where the coffee is made. The brush for cleaning the machine and extra pots are kept in the storage area in the upper part of the stainless stell cabinet.

                • The Cafe continued

I decided that the booths in the corners should have Moroccan red/brown round tables. The cabinet with the coffe machine should also be Moroccanred/brown. The coffee cabinet is 5 feet long x 2 feet wide. There are two doors under the right side where the coffee machine is located. Next to the machine toward the left is the round stainless steel spoon container and the spring well for the coffee cup saucers. The pipes under the coffee machine go down to the basement below the Cafe. There are two hot plates above the machine to keep pots of coffe hot and there also are pots at the lower part of the machine for fresh brewed coffee. There is a spicket for hot water for tea and to rinse the coffee pots. There is a drain in the front of the machine for used water.
The cabinet counter top is dark brown formica counter top. The same kind of counter is on the top of the cabinets of the front booths. There is a cabinet above the coffe cup spring well for extra coffee pots and the brush for cleaning the machine. The coffee pots are stainless steel.
There are antique brass mosaic laterns hanging above the front booths centered with the windows. There are also antique brass mosaic laterns hanging above the round tables of the corner booths. The mosaics of the lanterns are gold/maroonish red/wine color stain glass. The lanterns are Moroccan and ornate. Mohamed would decide.
There is a round Moroccan red/brown pedestal table centered in the Cafe. The table is 5 feet diameter. There are 5 chairs around the table. The chairs are like the chairs in the Mosque Room but they are brown stained wood. The chairs have dark brown vinyl covered seats. Sometimes the table is used to have food set up on it so that people can serve themselves. Sometimes people sit at the table.
The boys usually sit at the front two right booths. The girls like one of the corner booths.
The sink counter in the bathroom is dark brown granite.
The drawers in the right and left front cabinets are located top right and left sides of the cabinet above the storage sections. The drawers and doors at the sides are 1 1/4 wide. The center sections are also 1 1/4 feet wide and the doors are 12 inches wide. There are juice glasses in the bottom section and the top section of the right cabinet. There are extra teaspoons in the drawers of the left front cabinet. There are two dividers in the drawers. The right drawer of the cabinet near the coffe station contains serving utensils.
The front windows are 3 feet x 3 feet and are arced. The arced panels above the windows are stained glass. The center windows are 3 1/2 feet x 3 1/2 feet size with arced stain glass panel. I do not know if the grapes and grape leaves go with the window stain glass panels. That would have to be decided. The stain glass window above the entrance doors continues across the six inch side walls. The panel definitely says Cafe with sun gold letters and script writing. For now thw wine colored grapes and green grape leaves stay. I think the combination will look alright.
                  Next time the refrigeration unit.

                  • The Cafe/The Refrigeration Unit

The Cafe cabinet counters are Dark brown formica counters. The right front counter has juice glasses on the top center shelf. There are 10 smooth brown trays in the lower section. The napkins are kept in the left side storage section and boxes of cereal are kept in the right side section.
The left front cabinet has coffee in the center lower dection and there are 4 extra coffe pots on the top center shelf. The coffe filters are located in the left side storage section and there are clear glass sugar containers in the right storage section. The sugar containers have stainless steel top shaped like cones. The cones have hole in the top.
There is no upper cabinet above the cabinet with the coffee machine.
All of the booths and the booth tables are brown stain wood. The corner booths have round pedestal tables. The center pedestal table is Moroccan red/brown and the chairs are brown stain wood. The chairs have dark brown vinyl seats.
The refrigeration unit is located in the right side area which goes in 8 feet from the corner. There is a wall behind the refrigeration unit. The wall is 10 feet long. The refrigeration unit is built in. It is stainless steel unit. The unit is 2 feet deep, 7 feet high and 10 feet wide. The unit is divided into three sections. There are side walls and walls between the side sections and the center sections. The sections are 3 feet wide with double doors and the doors are 1 1/2 feet wide. There are 4 shelves in each section. The lower sections have stainless steel pans with fruit in them. The second shelf has stainless steel pans of jello with fruit, pudding. fruit salad and regular salads. The third shelves have pitchers of ice tea, tomato juice and what ever is available. The top shelf also is for what ever is available.
There are stainless steel handels on the doors. The doors open out.
There is a shiny brass speaker centered above the bathroom door. There is another speaker at the other side of the wall above the coffe machine cabinet. The speakers are centerd the same from the ceiling and the side walls. There are also speakers distanced the same above the refrigeration unit. The front speakers broadcast the music from the CD player or the radio which are outside the Cafe on the hutch. The inner speakers broadcast the Public Address announcments. The Public address system over rides the CD Player and the radio. There also is a shiny brass climate centered above the outside bathroom wall and the refrigeration unit. The climate control vents are regular vents.
The refrigeration unit is the same height as the bathroom entrance door and upper molding.
There is a 6 feet x 10 feet room behind the refrigeration unit. This room is also refrigerated. The entrance door is located in the front corridor. The door is just past the end column. The door id dark brown metal door with a 6 inch x 2 1/2 foot clear glass window panel. The entrance doors to the shoe closet also have this size clear glass window panel. The Cafe doors to the kitchen and the doors to the shoe closet swing both ways.

                    • Finishing the Cafe

I decided that the upper walls of the Cafe are wallpapered maroon vinyl wallpaper. The bathroom wallpaper also has a maroon background instead of wine color.
The antique brass lanterns and half bowl wall sconces have maroonish red glass mosaics.
The center pedestal table is brown stain wood. The tables of the corner booths are also pedestal tables. The corner booths sit five people in the booths and a sixth at the front side of the tables.
Instead of the coffee machine there is a stainless steel coffee urn. The outlet is located underneath inside the cabinet. There are four extra coffee pots stored under the urn in the cabinet. There is a double hot plate on top of the left end cabinet. There is an outlet centered 1 1/2 feet up from the floor behind the end cabinets. The double hot plate heats 2 pots of coffee. There also is a rectangle basket on the right side of the cabinet where the hot plate is located. The basket has tea bags and hot cocoa packets in the basket.
There are 7 trays on the upper shelf of the center of the cabinets. There are boxes of teabags each side of the trays. There are also 7 trays on the upper shelf of the right side cabinet with boxes of hot cocoa each side of the trays. The juice glasses are kept in the lower section of the right cabinet.
There is another outlet 1 1/2 feet up from the floor on the right wall centered from the refrigeration unit. The switches for the lights is on the wall to the right of the entrance doors from the kitchen. The right switch controls the right side lights and the left switch controls the left side lights. The switches and plugs are dark brown and the metal plate covers are antique brass.
Stainless steel pans with chunks of cheeses are kept on the third shelf of the center section of the refrigeration unit. Behind the refrigeration unit is the wall. On the other side of the wall there is a refrigerated room. The room is 6 feet wide x 10 feet long. The entrance door is in the outside front corridor. The door is dark brown metal door with 6 inch x 2 1/2 feet clear glass window panel. Inside the refrigerated room there is a brown stain wood unit with bins in parts and shleves in the upper parts. Brocolli, cauliflower, different kinds of peppers, carrots are kept in the lower bins. Fruit is kept in stainless steel pans on the upper shelves. This unit is on the far wall when you enter the refrigerated room.
There is a stainless steel shelf unit to the right of the entrance door to the room. This shelf unit has milk and juices kept on it. Ice cream is kept in one of the refrigerators in the kitchen. The right side refrigerator.
The brown stained wood unit is 5 feet wide x 7 feet high and 1 1/2 feet deep. The stainless steel shelves are 2 1/2 feet wide x 5 feet high. The entrance door is three feet wide. The door frame is also dark brown metal. The outside moldings are brown stain wood.

I have been working on things about the story, still trying to set things up. I ave been making cuts which has to be done. New update on Some of the Cast thread. I will try to get back to designing the Palace as soon as I can. Maybe tomorrow.

                        • Finishing the Lower Level of the Palace

To finish the cafe. The stainless steel cart where the white rubber tub is on top is where the dirty dishes go and then to the kitchen for the dishwasher. Sometimes the tub is clean and it is taken out to the front corridor to the refrigerated room to get fruits and vegetables. This stainless steel cart is kept on the right side of the Cafe around the corner of the booths. The cart is kept by the side wall three feet out from the refrigeration unit.
There is a second stainless steel cart in the kitchen kept by the side of the left stove on the area between the stove and the refrigerator. There is a second white rubber tub that can be used on the second stainless steel cart when needed.
There are brown stained wood boxes kept on each of the booth tables where rectangle napkins are kept. They are kept in the boxes.

This finishes the Cafe. There is another mop sink in the back part of the second right emergency exit corridor. The sink counter is five feet wide and it is the same as the mop sinks and counter in the mop room upstairs off the back right stairwell. The sink is the same as thethe one upstairs except this one is 5 feet wide instead of 7 feet wide. Everything else about the counter sink and the floor sink is the same. The shiny brass pipes and faucets.
There is a 5 foot wide built in wall cabinet above this sink and counter. The wall cabinet is two sections with 14 inch wide doors. The wall cabinet is brown stained wood. There are brown towels for drying hands in the section above the sink, There is a towel rack on the right wall out from the sink cabinet.
On the left side of the wall cabinet pine cleaner is kept, white powder bleach cleanser for cleaning the sinks.
The mop sink is the same as the one upstairs in the mop room.
The Mop and bucket is kept on the left side in front of the mop sink. The mop and bucket are also the same as the ones upstairs in the mop room.
This emergency exit corridor is the one that originally had a cabinet the same as the other emergency corridors but this one did not have anything in the cabinet so I decided to have the second sink and mop sink in this emergency corridor.

This finishes designind and decorating the lower level of the Palace.

                          • Finishing/The Basement

First I think I measured the kitchen corridor and the back exit corridor wrong. This means that the laundry room has to be 18 feet wide instead of 20 feet wide. I think everything will still fit. Then this means that the Men's and Women's batjroom are 10 1/2 feet wide instead of 9 1/2 feet wide. The shower stalls will be 6 inches wider and the latrine stalls will be 6 inches wider. I think this will straighten out the lining up of the corridors.
The Mop siinks. The cabinets will be the same kind of paint finish as the cabinets in the other exit corridors. I beleive they are red enamel with bright green design. The vinyl wallpaper lining under the sink will be the same as the vinyl shelf paper in the cabinets.
The sinks, pipes and faucets are the same as the ones in the mop room upstairs at the Main level of the Palace. The set up for the sink area is the same as that upstairs in the mop room.
The upper wall cabinet is also red/bright green enamel fininsh. There are brown towels for drying hands in the top section of the wall cabinet on the right side. There are 2 liquid hand soap refills in the lower section and there are stacks of off white striped cotton towels for cleaning stacked next to the liquid hand soap.

The entrance door to the basement are located at the end of the exit corridors. The left corridor the door is on the left side at the end and the right corridor the door is on the right side at the end. The stairs are 4 feet wide. They go down to the basement to a room. Each side has a room at the bottom. There is a rectangle triangle arch in the center of the rooms. There is a closet under the top of the stairs. There are two 6 feet high wood ladders in each of the closets. The entrance doors are Moroccan red/brown. The door knob and hardware is antique brass. The rooms are under the bathrooms above. To the front side of the rooms at the far walls is a closet under the alcove above. This closet is 7 feet x 7 feet. This is where the hot water heaters are kept. One each side.
All of the floors ithe basement are dark brown ceramic floor tiles. They are 12 inch x 12 inch size.
The stairs are also Moroccan red/brown wooden stairs. there is another room between these rooms and that room is under the laundry room which is 17 feet x 18 feet size. The room is 18 feet wide. There iare cabinets against the back inside wall. There are a 4 feet wide x 3 feet deep cabinet each end side of the room with a 10 feet cabinet in between. The 10 feet cabinet is divided into four 2 1/2 sections. There are double doors to the right side and double doors to the left side. The taller end cabinets have double 1/1/2 feet wide doors. The end cabinets are 5 feet high. The center cabinets have dark brown formica counter top.
Different sizes of light bulbs are kept in the end cabinets. The end cabinets have 4 shelves inside. The cabinets are Moroccan red/brown.
There is a main corridor that runs around the basement. The corridor is the same layout as the corridors above at the lower level of the Palace. The rooms in the center of the basement are the same size as the rooms above. The columns are all the same and the doors are all the same. The basement doors are Moroccan red/brown with brown stained frames and moldings. Where there is a door above there is a door and where there is an arch above there is an arch in the basement.
More about the basement next time.

                            • Few Details/The Basement

I think it best if the laundry room stays at 20 feet wide. Instead I decided to make the dining room 2 feet wider. The kitchen corridors move over 1 foot each side and also the pantries. The kitchen will be 34 feet wide. The back part of the Cafe will be 34 feet wide. There will be 7 feet wall around the front of the cafe. The 7 feet goes from the left corner to the entrance door of the Cafe bathroom. There is also 7 feet wall from the right corner to the refrigeration unit.
This means that the center area of the lower level, the center area is 62 feet wide x 65 feet long. I made the width of the center area 1 foot wider each side. This will line up the back kitchen corridors by 2 feet each corridor.
I want the cabinets in the second right emergency exit to be brown stained wood cabinets. This will be the sink cabinet and the upper wall cabinet. The counter top is dark brown formica counter top. The knobs and hinges are antique brass.

There is an antique brass ceiling light fixture at the top of the basement stairs. There is another ceiling light fixture in the center of the ceiling. The light fixtures are the same. The switch is located to the side of the entrance doors to the basement. The switches are off white with antique brass metal plate cover. The set up in the other entrance room to the basement is the same.
The archs at the front of the entrance rooms are rectangle.
The room in between the entrance rooms is 17 feet x 28 feet size. There are two 2 feet x 2 feet columns at the front of this room. The columns are 10 feet in from the side walls. The light fixture is the same as the ones in the entrance rooms. The switch is the same and located on the left side wall.
There are a 10feet wide x 6 feet high x 2 feet deep brown stained cabinets each side of the outer wall. The cabinets have 2 sets of double doors. The doors are 2 feet wide. Different kinds of light bulbs are kept in these cabinets. There is a regular size 8 feet long cabinet in between the 10 feet wide cabinets. The cabinet in the center has dark brown formica counter top. For now the center cabinet is empty. It has four 1 1/2 feet wide drawers across the top and two sets of 1 1/2 feet wide double doors at the lower part of the cabinet.
The floors in these rooms are medium brown 12 inch x 12 inch ceramic tiles.

The rest of the basement is laid out the same as the lower level floor above. The corridor tiles are medium brown with white specks. If the floor above was hardwood floors in the basement they are medium brown 12inch x 12 inch ceramic tiles. The rest of the floors are tiled the same as the floors above.
The lights in the basement are also the same as the light fixtures in the rooms above. Except for the rooms under the sitting rooms. They do not have ceiling fans in the basement. Those lights are antique brass ceiling light fixtures. they have white opaque glass covers. The lights in the three entrance rooms also have white opaque glass covers for the lights.
The lights in the walk thru do not have fane. Thwey have antique brass round mosaic fixtures.
Where ever there are switches for lights they are the same in the basement. The outlet plugs are also positioned the same as the lower level. If the plate covers are shiny brass upstairs they are shiny brass in the basement. The same if they are antique brass they are antique brass in the basement.
I think solar power has turbines. The machinery for the solar is located in the basement rooms under the sitting rooms.

There are window seats in the front part of the basement like the window seats of the upper floors. The basement is laid out the same but there is no stained glass.
Most of the walls of the basement is probably cement blocks and they are painted off white.

Water supply pipes, gas lines, drain pipes run through the basement above by the basement ceilings to where they have to go. Ducts for soem of the climate control also would run above. We need professionals for this of course.

I think I covered the basement. This finishes designing the Main parts of the Palace.
Next time more about the right and left courtyards and the greenhouses.

                              • A Few More Things About the Basement

I think we could have one more boy teen at the Palace. He would be an African teen. This means that Mohamed's grandson and the Moroccan boy would share a room and the Palestinian boy and the boy would share a room. Two of the boys would use the computers in the alcoves. All computers printers have scanners except the ones in the alcove. Those boys can use the printer scanners in the library.
I decided not to have cabinets with the light bulbs in the room centered between the entrance rooms of the basement. The entrance rooms and the center room are painted light brown. The center room has 1 1/2 foot wall come down from the ceiling from the side walls and in between the brick columns. The ceiling of the center room is planked brown stained wood.
The second left side alcove has a sink and mop sink. The sinks and cabinet are the same design as the other sink and mop sink set up. The pipes, sinks and faucets are the same as the setup in the mop room of the main floor and the mop setup in the right side emergency corridor on the lower level above. This cabinet is 7 feet wide. There is a 7 foot wall cabinet above the lower cabinet. The upper cabinet is built in and has the same items in the right and left sections as the wall cabinet in the emergency exit corridor. The mop bucket with the mop in it is kept in the right front corner of this alcove.
The rooms under the stairwells are wallpapered with dark maroon vinyl wallpaper. the ceilings are brown stained planked wood. There are stairs to the basement in the first left side stairwell. This is the stairwell located past the elevator alcove. The basement part of the stairwell continues design of the upper floors. The elevator goes down to the basement. Everything is the same about the elevator. The metal ladder and the mechanisms to operate the elevator extend down to the basement. The pad of the elevator rests below the floor of the elevator shaft.
Switches and plugs are the same colors as the switches and plugs in the rooms above.
The room below the kitchen has the same style island. There are a built in area below the built in area for the refrigerators above. There are no refrigerators in the basement. The doors from the room under the kitchen to the room under the Cafe. The basement door between these rooms are kept locked.
The rooms under the Cafe have the same kind of windows with stained glass picture above the windows. The panel above the entrance doors is the same as the one above but instead of saying Cafe there are maroon stars. The front entrance doors to the room below the Cafe are the same design as the doors to the Cafe.
There is the compressor for the refrigerated room. The compressor is located in the room under the refrigerated room. The electric outlet is located 1 1/2 feet up from the wall. It is centered on the back wall.
The rooms below the shoe closet isexactly the same as the shoe closet above. The columns and cabinets are the same. This is where extra rolls of wallpaper are stored. They are stored in the cabinets. The rolls of wallpaper are wrapped and marked to where they match. The closet below the luggage closet are planked the same as above. There is a 5 feet wide x 6 feet high brown stained cabinet in each of the closets. There are rolls of wallpaper stored in these cabinets too.
I decided to keep the ceiling fans and lights at the walk thru area. They are the same as the ceiling fans and lights on the floor above. There is also a ceiling fan and light in the room under the shoe closet. Light and fan are the same as in the shoe closet.
The walls in the rooms under the sitting rooms are painted light brown. The turbines and machinery are located in these rooms. The machine rooms are painted light brown.
The 7 feet x 7 feet closets where the hot water heaters are kept. The closets are tiled with beige 4 inch x 4 inch ceramic tiles. This also includes the ceilings of the closets. This will protect the walls and ceilings from water if there is a leak.
                                Next time the courtyard.
Instead of the rest of the walls being off white I decided they should be low lustre white.
There are four brown stained booths and tables in the room under the Cafe. They are located to the right and left of the entrance doors and they are in front of the first 2 windows each side.
There are ceramic tile moldings around the bottom of the walls along the floor. The moldings match the tiles of the floors.
There are built in closet like the ones in the boy's rooms. The closets are in the basement rooms under the boy's rooms.
There are climate control vents in the basement situated the same as the ones for the lower level floor above.
I decdied there are stain glass windows in the basement above the window seats and along the walk thrus. Mohamed could design the stain glass windows for the Palace.
