"Day 3 - 25 Dec 2007" Billybull's photos around Meknes, Morocco [01:32]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Meknes, Morocco by TravelPod blogger Billybull titled "Day 3 - 25 Dec 2007" Billybull's travel blog entry: "Woke up to beautiful sunshine and it was just another day in Morocco, no celebrations of course. We drove to Chellah, on the outskirts of Rabat. This was once a prosperous Roman town and then transformed into a cemetery by the Mirinids, according to the tour info. To be honest, I wasn´t really looking forward to going there. Who wants to visit a cemetery on Christmas morning when you are on holiday I moaned. Well, I take it back - it was an amazing place and I wouldn´t have missed it for the world. The entrance gate was very impressive and we entered the site, walking through the gardens of wild flowers in glorious sunshine. I was so glad we had gone there early, before the hordes arrived. It was so peaceful and idyllic. Being Christmas Day, my phone was ringing with texts and calls so I switched it off, wanting to enjoy the serenity. As we walked, we could see the river and valley stretching out below. Part of this land is currently being developed by a consortium from Dubai to include hotels, entertainment, shops etc. It´s good news for the local economy but such a shame that it will spoil the natural view from this wonderful place. We were followed by a thin but vociferous feral cat and I remembered I had some cheese in my back pack which he devoured with relish. There were cats everywhere, lying on tombstones ...
"Walkies and theiving boy" Phileasfarx's photos around Boumalne Dadès, Morocco [02:30]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Boumalne Dadès, Morocco by TravelPod blogger Phileasfarx titled "Walkies and theiving boy" Phileasfarx's travel blog entry: "So this place is halfway between Erg Chebbi and Marrakech. We - Me, Brighty and Ozzy, Hannah a Kiwi, Brian an American and Cameron an Ozzy - took five Grand Taxis to get here, the last one in a car with a total of 8 people in! We got picked up in the local town by two lads who worked at the small hotel. Seemed good so we went with it. The place was really nice and we had a fun evening chatting with the two guys - early twenties - who picked us up. I enjoy chatting to the local people. Randomly the Ozzy couple who I went to the desert with were also staying at the same hotel, even though they left the desert two days before me! The five of us who arrived together went for a walk the next day in the countryside. And wow. Gorges and hills everywhere. We pretty much broke every rule in the book though... left with only enough supplies for half a day, took no compass or map or warm clothes and didn't really have any idea where we were or where we were going. Only thing we did know is that the taxi who dropped us off at the start of our trip dropped us upstream of our hotel. So, we basically decided to follow the river downstream until we got to somewhere we recognised. Eventually the stragegy worked because we got home fine, although tired but still in daylight! Kinda fun getting lost though as you ...
"Morocco" Traveler [07:24]
Morocco is fantastic! I visited Morocco three times in one year and I took along with me a lot of photos plus some sounds what I recorded in many different places. These photos in video are taken from Tangier, Marrakech, Essaouira, Fez, Meknes and many other small beautiful places. Music is composed by me. I recorded most of the music material in Meknes main square (some drums in Fez and city noises + guitar in Tangier), where musicians played one really awesome song. I added some violins, violas, cellos, contrabasses, celesta, prepared piano and a lot of percussion instruments from classical orchestra and Africa.
