Morocco, Marrakesh, Djemaa el Fna. This is the main square, the beating heart of Northern Africa. Note the silence of the mopeds. The fact that nobody wears a helmet. And how calm it all is. Lovely place.

Medina Marakech (Marrakesh) 2008 [00:41]
In late 2008 we visited Morocco, went to Marrakesh, have been walking through the Atlas mountains for a week and afeterwards we made a trekking through the desert. Very nice country. This little movie is one, shot from hip-height to mask the filming, as the Moroccans do not want to be filmed. It is shot in the northern part of the Marrakesh Medina, outside the touristy area.

2011 - 4 - A walk through downtown Marrakech [06:51]
In April of 2011, a friend and I visited the Moroccan High Atlas and desert. In between, we got some R&R in the fascinating city of Marrakech. Here is a video of a walk through the central square, or Medina. Incidentally, we were there when the bomb went off at the Argana cafe... though en route to the station at the time.
