Olive Oil 2011 [02:22]
In keeping with our ethos of making everything from scratch, this year we set out bright and early to make our 2011 olive oil, green, fresh, and delicious. Joined by a handful of guests, who all pitched in and joined the fun--picking the olives, riding in or on the pickup truck to first the wrong press, and then the right one...and out came a delicious, fresh, green, tart olive oil, which we are now serving at the hotel. An incredibly noisy process with the new machinery, the output, however, even if slightly less romantic, is infinitely superior to the oil coming from the traditional press. It was a great day out. To assure quality we picked the olives by hand rather than having beaten them out of the trees with sticks, and also sought out green or slightly tinged olives--all which gives a better flavour but also less oil.

Morocco (Arabic: المغرب‎, al-Maġrib), officially the Kingdom of Morocco[6] (المملكة المغربية, al-Mamlakah al-Maġribiyya), is a country located in North Africa. It has a population of nearly 33 million and an area of 710850 km², and also primarily administers the disputed region of the Western Sahara. It is a part of the Maghreb region, besides Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania and Libya, with whom it shares cultural, historical, and linguistic ties. Morocco is a constitutional monarchy with an elected parliament. The King of Morocco holds vast executive powers, including dissolving parliament at will. Executive power is exercised by the government but more importantly by the king himself. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of parliament, the Assembly of Representatives and the Assembly of Councillors. The king can also issue decrees called dahirs which have the force of law. Parliamentary elections were held in Morocco on 7 September 2007, and were considered by some neutral observers to be mostly free and fair; although voter turnout was estimated to be 37%, the lowest in decades. The political capital is Rabat, and the largest city is Casablanca; other large cities include Marrakesh, Tetouan, Tangier, Salé, Fes, Agadir, Meknes and Oujda. The population speak a mixture of Darija and Berber languages of Morocco with many regional dialects. Impala Adventures - Desert Waiting - Morocco 01/10/2006 [09:42]
This is a section that's really only going to be interesting to myself and my brother as we have spent 2 weeks in the Defender together already and you can tell by the conversation. We didn't want to get out as it was sweltering and the air-con was keeping the temperature down a bit inside, but not a lot as it's just standard Defender air-con so pretty basic. Anyway this section amuses me as we discuss the goings on and thankfully I didn't make a mess of it when we finally got moving.
