It's 4 Years since Amanda died and this month we went to Marrakesh, Morocco to visit Jardin Majorelle its a beautiful Garden in a busy city , Amanda visited this garden in 2005 and it inspired her so much she painted the Majorelle gardens painting, its a wonderful painting. Memories of Amanda , the daughter we miss so much .

They've moved the bus station, so the planet needed some realignment to find our way (not the first nor last time that'll be the case!). Met up with Allal, brother of Abdul el Essaouira of the Berber ilk (don't ask us from whom he was begat) and talked camels and Sahara expeditions, along with some of the finer points of tooth removal. Reasonable price for a night in the desert and the deal was sealed over "whisky berber" better known as warm sugar syrup with scattered tea leaves - local version of chai, consumed en masse and in vast quantities - hence the local knowledge on dental extraction. Ali and Mahjoud introduced us to our camels the next morning and we were off, but not before donning some Berber garb for the trip. We started from Oulad Dràssi, an oasis 10km east of M'Hamid, which is literally the end of the road before sand takes you into Algeria, headed north then a little west before lunch and a nap under a tree. Further west and we reached the camp nestled amongst the dunes and bordering surreal in the light of the setting sun.
