TAROUDANT PART III THE MAIN SQUARE IN THE AFTERNOON.mp4 [04:18]
Taroudant is one of the most Moroccan towns. Its history, its importance and its people are a constant attractions to many visitors who specifically come to this town drawn by its charm, mysticism and magic. The famous French actor Fernandel starred in a film on Ali Baba and his thieves. The film was shot for the good part in Taroudant. The town is also called the Little Marrakech. Its medina (old town) is encircled by magnificent crenelated ramparts and thus resembles its more popular bigger brother. It has one of the most expensive hotels in Morocco: La Gazelle d'Or (The Golden Gazelle). Many famous people use to stay there including Barbara Hepworth, Michael Forbes. There is also a Jacques Chirac connecrtion: I was told his mother was born in Taroudant.

Frankly my dear I don't give a Casablanca - Micky [04:40]
More from Micky my brother and foreign correspondent. He is now in Casablanca, Morocco Africa. "Frankly my dear...." I do give a damn! Micky visits a McDonalds...a few differences, and then takes us to a Berber village for a lesson in how to make mint tea. (apparently this tea solved some issues from the previous meal we saw in his last vlog.) too much coos coos Casablanca is Morocco's largest city as well as its chief port. The Port of Casablanca is one of the largest artificial ports in the world. Berbers are the indigenous peoples of North Africa west of the Nile Valley. Today, varieties of Maghrebi colloquial Arabic are spoken by a large portion of Berbers besides the Berber language itself. Foreign languages like French are used by the educated in Morocco, good thing for Micky. Many Berbers call themselves some variant of the word Imazighen meaning "free people" or "free and noble men". Enjoy - more Dicky coming soon!

"Of Dunesandgorges" Nybridge's photos around Ouarzazate, Morocco [01:11]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Ouarzazate, Morocco by TravelPod blogger Nybridge titled "Of Dunesandgorges" Nybridge's travel blog entry: "Jumped into the back of a ute with six locals and a couple of pushies and we're headed back to Ouarzazate and a rickety bus to Zagora. They've moved the bus station, so the planet needed some realignment to find our way (not the first nor last time that'll be the case!). Met up with Allal, brother of Abdul el Essaouira of the Berber ilk (don't ask us from whom he was begat) and talked camels and Sahara expeditions, along with some of the finer points of tooth removal. Reasonable price for a night in the desert and the deal was sealed over "whisky berber" better known as warm sugar syrup with scattered tea leaves - local version of chai, consumed en masse and in vast quantities - hence the local knowledge on dental extraction. Ali and Mahjoud introduced us to our camels the next morning and we were off, but not before donning some Berber garb for the trip. We started from Oulad Dràssi, an oasis 10km east of M'Hamid, which is literally the end of the road before sand takes you into Algeria, headed north then a little west before lunch and a nap under a tree. Further west and we reached the camp nestled amongst the dunes and bordering surreal in the light of the setting sun. Tagine for two by the fire followed by puzzle drawing in the sand with the Berbers. Discussions of people and places before retiring to our ...
