Egypt & Tunesia

I am surprised that no mention of the protests in Egypt and Tunesia have been mention. This has been the top news for the last month. Now there have been protests in Yemen, Bahrain, Jordan, Iran and Lybia. Where will next protests be.

You are right Witchqueen, but it has been very quiet on here of late. I have friends in Tunisia and I can say that it is still far from quiet there, When the troubles spread to Eygpt that took over the news and now that their dictator has at last left, Eygpt has also dropped slightly from the news. But I'm sure things are a long way from being sorted. It will take months even years before the local people will see any changes to their lives. But I sincerely hope that things will change for the better for them and they will one day soon be living in the democracy they have fought for.

It's very sad that people have lost their lives during this time, but change of this magnitude is never easily won and always there is personal sacrifice to be made on many levels. Lets hope their sacrifice has not been in vain and all countries will look forward to a peaceful future.

Hi Arwen. Hope all is well. I remember you said you had friends in Tunesia. Now the troubles have moved to Bahrain and Lybia. I hope things work out for them. We will just have to see what happens.

Yes Witchqueen as I understand it things in Tunisia have quieten down somewhat lately and the people are looking forward to rebuilding their country anew. I hope they get on and organise elections soon and can move forward.

Not sure about Lybia, a very dangerous situation. Gadaffi is a different type of person, sorry to say I think he is more than a little insane. Anyone who kills his own people with such callous disregard cannot be anything other than crazy!!!!! I feel sad for the Lybian people and I hope they win through and there will be an end to the troubles soon and they can build some sort of future without Gadaffi.

I guess time will tell.
