[104.1] Woe to every slanderer, defamer,

Book 41, Number 41.5.17:
Malik related to me from Abu'z-Zinad that he said, ''Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz flogged a slave with eighty lashes for slander."

Abu'z-Zinad said, "I asked Abdullah ibn Amir ibn Rabia about that. He said, 'I saw Umar ibn al-Khattab, Uthman ibn Affan, the Khalifs, and so on, and I did not see any of them flog a slave more than forty lashes for slander.' "

Book 56, Number 56.4.10:
Malik related to me from al-Walid ibn Abdullah ibn Sayyad that al-Muttalib ibn Abdullah ibn Hantab al-Makhzumi informed him that a man asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "What is backbiting?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "It is to mention about a man what he does not want to hear." He said, "Messenger of Allah! Even if it is true?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If you utter something false, then it is slander."

Book 032, Number 6263:
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: When two persons indulge in hurling (abuses) upon one another, it would be the first one who would be the sinner so long as the oppressed does not transgress the limits.

Book 032, Number 6268:
A'isha reported that a person sought permission from Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) to see him. He said: Grant him permission. (and also added: ) He is a bad son of his tribe or he is a bad person of his tribe. When he came in he used kind words for him. 'A'isha reported that she said: Allah's Messenger, you said about him what you had to say and then you treated him with kindness. He said: A'isha, verily in the eye of Allah, worst amongst the person in rank on the Day of Resurrection is one whom the people abandon or desert out of the fear of indecency.

What are you asking me? I never make any bad comments to Malika ever. She calls me names at least on two other occasions. I do not like people slandering me and neither does Allah(soubhanna wa taa'la). Why do you ask me if I respond like Nabi Muhammad(salli allahu alayhi wa salaam)? Do you? Sayid Muhammad(salli allahu alayhi wa salaam) always begins letters with , "Bismillah ir-rahmaan ir-raheem". Am I doing something haraam? You cant not find one instance on this board where I call someone a name overtly at all. I am not here on this board to accept abuse. If you do not accpet my comments then say such or offer a reasonable counter argument in like fashion. I am doctor and generally you do not think of men with doctorates as being sick in anyway. I treat sick people. Why the concern over the title or name sheikh? I can not call myself sheikh? Someone else can not call me sheikh? What is your point? Do you think that because I also have a Western name that I can not be a sheikh? There are many pious Muslims here in the U.S.A. some born here some come from abroad from all over the world and we pray together. Why is your name Malik? Why do I need to explain myself?
