A Moroccan suspect of being a member of a terrorist group that committed the attacks in Madrid, was found, Thursday, hung in his prison cell in the Spanish jail of Zuera (northern Spain), reported MAP.
Guards found the body of Mustapha Zeniber, hung with his belt in the shower of the cell where he was in solitary confinement, prison sources said.
Zeniber, 42, was condemned in 1996 to 29 years in jail, after he burned alive his compatriot Youssef Bachir in 1994.
According to reports of the prison's administration, he became a radical Islamist militant during his stay in jail. He reportedly invited co-inmates to the prison's cafeteria to celebrate the terrorist attacks that killed over 190 people in Madrid last March.
In November 2004, anti-terrorist judge, Baltasar Garzon, accused him of belonging to an Islamist network that planned attacks against government buildings in Madrid.
