Question about morrocan marriage law
My Moroccan husband left me unexpectedly a few months ago. I am a British citizen and our marriage is recognised in Moroccan law. I have left him numerous emails to divorce me as it is ominous that he does want to continue with this marriage. I know that he cannot afford to divorce me as he needs to give me dowry. He is residing in Morocco and my question is if a husband has not been in contact with his wife for over three months without any reason, would I be able to report him to the police in Morocco? What I would like for him to do is to divorce me as he was the one who has left the marital home and also I should get what is owed to me. I have heard that the Moroccan marriage laws are strict and if the spouse is not in contact with their other half for so many months he/she could be jailed? Is this the case? Any help would be appreciated
