How much does it cost to divorce in Morocco?

Hi Everyone
My friend married a French woman who he did not love (pressure from family and friends), he went to France for 1 week and returned knowing he could not continue the relationship. Now he would like to divorce her, does anyone have any idea how much this will cost. I have contacted a few lawyers and they say around 2500 Euros, which seems a LOT of money, but i was wondering whether they are saying this because i am Western.

I am assuming the marrage was done according to the laws of france. Is your friend a muslim? if so he can just divorce her by saying the word divorce after each of her menstruation, the 3rd time he says it to her, the marrage will end. If he is not muslim or you wish to pursue a divorce according to french laws then why doesnt he just wait for her to pursue it ! that would save him no?

Wow is divorce as easy as that then... Would that be legally recognised? I think it would be best to consult with a solicitor.

If only divorce was that easy!! they got married in Morocco - so i guess he needs to divorce in Morocco as well. I have asked a couple of solicitors and they said around 2500 euros, hence my original question of is this a normal price for a divorce or is an inflated price?
Everything seems a lot more complicated in Morocco!!!
