Traveling to Sidi Ifni

Salam,

I am Moroccan but live in California. I am planning a somewhat long trip back home this summer. I am plannig on visiting many places insha'Allah. Sidi Ifni is one of them. I have never been that far south, but I am very intertsted in visiting the Berber villages and checking out the desert...I would like to spend some time in Sidi Ifni and I hear the surf is always up there (IS this true?). I love eating BBQ fish (Sardines) and I like th ebeach and the surf.
If anyone knows more about this place, would you please be kind and tell me about it. Thanks.

Thanks Awen, I intend , insha'Allah, to have a good trip. I know I can get by around Agadir and all the surrounding vBerber villages (My mother is from a Berber village noit far from Agadir), but once further down south in the desert, I'll be cluless. I am more concerned about the roads and hotels etc...But I have heard that they have made some nice roads going all the way to Sidi Ifni. I shall see. I also hear it's a peaceful small town with some tourists (mostly surfers) and the locals don't know the meaning of stress...I can get used to that life style no doubt.

I've never visited any of the coastal places of Morocco. As it's on the Atlantic I'm maybe thinking much of it will be a surfers paradise. I prefer to swim in calmer seas. But I would like to see the coast some time. A friend of mine went to Agadir but it did'nt impress her much...too touristy she said. and her a tourist But I know what she meant.

Yes Agadir is definitely a tourist town. I won't be interested in staying there, maybe just drive through , have a bite to eat and continue.
You are right, the Atlantic is more agitated than the Mediterranean sea, but some of the beaches on the Atlantic are breathtaking. I am looking for some nice places with less people (If that still exists) where I can relax and enjoy each and every second of the day...Thing that is impossible to do here in the US withthe hectic life we all lead over here, I am sure you know what I am talking about.

Yes it's same in UK, it's difficult at times to find a peaceful place in which to be alone with ones thoughts. Too many people not enough space....When I lived in Wales we lived near a beach which was always empty and had the most glorious stretch of unsploit sand. It ws great for running, and if I got too hot I could just ditch the shoes and cool off with a swim.

But now people have found this place and now there is always someone there. But I should'nt be selfish and begrudge them a share, it belongs to all. LOL
