Hi I'm back from my trip, it was fantastic I only wish it could have been longer. For those of you who may be interested here is a quick review of what we did. We arranged our trip with "Rough Tours" and I would recommend their company to anyone who wants a tour of the real Morocco with a Berber guide.
We were met at Marakech airport by our guide and driver, We visited the Majorelle gardens and in the afternoon went on a tour of Marakech with a local tour guide. We enjoyed our dinner at a restaurant in Jamma el Fna and then spent the night at our riad.
Day 2. On the way to Toudra gorges passing through the amazing scenery of the Atlas mountains, visiting on route Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Ouizazate passing through berber village of Boumalene de Dades where we stopped and shared some mint tea with a Nomad family related to our guide. Finally spend the night at Toudra Gorges.
Day3. Leave Toudra passing through Alnif then off road desert and villages to our destination of Hi Remlia. Where we were cooked a delicious meal of couscous and chicken.
Day 4 We continued on to Merzouga, where we stopped and spent some time listening to the gnawa music of Khamlia.
Day 5 Started off by visiting some abandoned mines of Mifs, toured the dunes for a bit and went to Rissani spending some time at the local market before heading back to Merzouga where our camels were waiting to take us to our camp in the dunes.. This was for me the highlight of the trip as I have long wanted to camp in the desert.

It was fantastic. Music food and very comfy tents.
Day 6 Back to Ouizazate.
Day 7 back to Marakech for a bit of retail therapy, before spending our last evening catching the sunset on Jamma el Fna before having dinner and back for our last night, before home.
It was a trip to remember, the warmth and generosity of the Moroccan people we met along the way have left me with a lasting happy memory and a longing to return for another visit. I will certainly consider doing another tour with "Rough Tours".
