Etihad Airways Starts Four New Morocco Flights A Week
DUBAI, - Morocco's tourism scene is about to be given a further lift by Etihad Airways with new four flights a week between Abu Dhabi and Casablanca from 2 June.
Nick Wood, General Manager of Etihad Holidays, said the new services will enhance the country's close historical ties with the Arab world and bolster its growing tourism profile internationally. Etihad's new service starts at a time when tourism and business ties between the UAE and Morocco have never been stronger. During the recent annual tourism conference in Tangier, UAE companies announced tourism and infrastructure projects worth more than $US18.9 billion that will be built in the next three years. The ventures include three developments stretching from the Atlas Mountains to the Atlantic coast including golf and ski communities, Riviera-style living and luxury spas and resorts. In addition to development in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, $US2 billion has been earmarked for tourism projects in the valley of Bouregreg, the river that separates Rabat from the city of Sale. In Marrakesh, millions of dollars have been allocated for projects in the upper Atlas mountains and areas surrounding the terracotta-colored city. Tangier's tourism infrastructure will receive $650 million for the construction of hotels and different businesses in a city that is separated from Europe by the Straits of Gibraltar. |
