well Tetouan is good ..
you have el Husseima..
Nador is sadly not taken care of neither by government or the people themselves..i guess it has to do with the vandals culture or something
you ma also visit TANGIERS..

Corazon

Mentioning "Ketama" was tongue in cheek. Ketama, being the hasheesh-capital of the Rif.
Seriously, I wouldn't advice you to go there. Can be pretty tricky.

I think in the North, Luxus (a former Roman settlement) and its area is really worthwhile. I absolutely would suggest to get some info from a travelbook, lonely planet is good. It gives you an idea on areas you may want to visit, or not.

Personally I have not much going with North-Morocco. I don't like Tangiers or Tetouan or the entire Shamal for that matter. (People from there, please don't take offense. It is NOTHING personal)I have more affinity with the Gharb, Doukala and the Saiss. So, makes me not eligible to give you advice.

Talking Malika - now you've done it..........

Prepare to be lynched by all the Shamelis on the boards

I prefer Central & Southern Morocco too to be honest. Lack of investment in Shamel hasn't kept it tourist friendly. I go up to Tetouan for the beaches as the Med is far better than the Atlantic. Other than that (& visiting family) I don't venture North.

LOL!

If that is my destiny, than I would like to give the Riaffe here the same opportunity too. I forgot to mention I have nothing with the Rif either

Oh and I've been to all those places too.

Yeah, Central and South Morocco rock! Although in the South there is severe lack of investment on infrastructure too.

Thumbs down Infrastructure..........

My God yes - for example driving to Agadir from Marrakech is a NIGHTMARE. I would fly but its not really feasible. You know something I have never understood about RAM internal flights is the need to go through Casa no matter where you're travelling to?? Can you believe that you have to go from Agadir to Casa to go to Marrakech? When I flew BA, my flight went from Marrakech to Agadir before going to London but you can't book the Moroccan segment on its own. So long winding small roads it is then.......

Driving mmmmm..... hate dicing with death on mountain roads

Corazon - don't let us put you off. Its all really beautiful & worth the drive

Thanks Malika.
I do like Tanger though - from April to September.
I was there two weeks ago and the sun was shining and it was... o so beautifull.

It's funny that you mention the road from Marraksh to Agadir. I was picturing that road when I was writing my previous post. That road is a crime! Again, there too, I got lost once. Had to drive from Marraksh to Agadir!. In a rental hehehe Fiat Uno (the worst!) with relatives. It was so dark, so bumpy.. I almost hit someone, because the locals go sit on lgoudron at night. I guess because it stays warm? ? Instead of Agadir, we ended up in Essaouira. LOL. It wasn't funny then, though.

I know flights within Morocco suck. Although I had a couple of times some good deals. They never fly on time either. What happened to the competition?
Look, I once went from Darbeeda to Oujda by train. It took 13 hours. Felt like I was in the Peking Express!
BTW you can take CTM. It's not bad. But it takes forever as well. Own car is the best thing if you are going to the outskirts.
