Hi ALL!

I have been planning a trip to Morocco this spring. After some
search on the internet, I found this tour operator called MANTRAV INTERNATIONAL. They are quite responsive and have answered all my questions.
Now I need to send them a deposit to secure two spaces in May for me and
my boyfriend. I am getting cold feet since I only met this company
through the internet.

Has anyone here used this company before? If so, would you please
let me know if this company is legit? Will they take my deposit and
simply disappear?

Thank you in advance.

What kind of spaces do you need to secure?

Never heard of it. Then again, I don't use a travelagent for Morocco. But I know the name of the largest tour-operator in Morocco, and its name is not in your post

If you make a deposit, don't send any money. Any legit company should accept CC, so yeah use your CC so that you are protected.

DanaRail, you are not alone in this. I am working with a company on my up coming trip to Morocco. The company is based on Morocco so I am looking for the same type of information.

Cool few tips

enjoy your stay guys
please give some of your money to the poor..they may sound as stalkers or gangs!
but you may make a diffrence ...as it is not USA ...
we are still poor but our hospitality is never changing "rich"
if you are with a tour guide that is better..
a group or a couple is good!
...

ok when i googled this company,i got a lesbian and gay travel agents!?!..whatever floats your boat i guess.

You should really find out as much as possible about the company and its legitimacy before you send them a single penny.
Enjoy Morocco!

happy trails to you!

Hi,
here is my advice, as an American woman, who has taken many wonderful trips to Morocco.

Skip the tour guides! You will pay way too much of your money (which gives you more money to spend on the people in Morocco who really need and deserve it - as CoolP pointed out). You will also get dragged to a bunch of touristy belly-dancing restaurants and souvenir sellers who are hooked up with the tour guides will rob you blind.

Here is the best way to enjoy Morocco:

1. Buy a Lonely Planet Guide to Morocco (they have a Darrija phrasebook too) or a RoughGuide and read in advance about where you want to visit.

2. Take the train (my favorite) or bus when you go from city to city - or from the airport into Casablanca - talk to the Moroccans around you. I guarantee that you will make friends and they will tell you the best places to go, know the nicest traditional Moroccan hotels to stay in AND you will probably get invited to their house for a real Moroccan meal.

Morocco is a wonderful place to visit. But there is a "tourist Morocco" and a real Morocco. The real Morocco is much better!!!!!
