Mods can't ban people, as you know perfectly well.

As for the thread, to be honest it isn't my cup of tea (although how Amiraa can possibly be a "trouser snake" is beyond me - it seems Bernardo needs to read up on his Anglo slang). However, it doesn't actually break any VCI rules, and what's more it is less sexually explicit than anything that any reader could buy in the mainstream press in Europe or the USA.

Therefore on this occasion I'm not deleting it, and I'm certainly not going to request that Andrea bans this Bernardo guy just because of this one post. It's crap but there are no rules against posting crap on this board. It's only crap of the hate-speech kind that crosses the line.

However, if Amiraa has been really upset by it, she can of course PM me to say so, and I'll reconsider my position.

It's all fairly clunky and written in pseudy legal-ese language, but it's basically a bar on racism, sexism, homophobia etc, use of forums to promote illegal activity, and against online bullying and harrassment. Mods are supposed to apply these rules equally to people regardless of background (even if doing so makes them unpopular, and regardless of any personal prejudices the mod may have against a given group).

Obviously there's a grey area between what constitutes legitimate banter and what is offensive, but I usually judge it on the individuals involved - ie for instance myself and Khokom often have a good old shouting match, and that's fine , but I might take a different view if it were an extrovert bullying someone more sensitive or shy.

Anyways, here's ze chapter and verse:
