Hello everyone,
I thought about creating a new section in the forum, called Darija Discussions or something like that in which we can post only in Darija. The reason for this is that I think most members of the forum r Moroccans who live abroad and who have some difficulties in speaking Darija. I think that one of the main purposes of this forum is to bring Moroccans who live abroad together and keep them in touch with their Moroccan roots, especially Darija. The thread or the section that already exists for "teaching" Arabic or Darija is unfortunately not very active, and this is due to the fact that it's a more educational or academic section than a fun section where ppl can freely express their views. The new section that I propose will not be as the old one where members can only learn, but they can discuss many topics as in any other section, but in Darija; which will be a fun, practical, and effective way to learn Darija and "perfeccionate" members' Moroccan dialect skills and try to heal the nostalgic feelings of our dear countrymates ![]() Please reply and tell us your opinion, My best regards, |

personally i don't think it will work, i think most of the Moroccans on here are fluent in darija, so your thinking that we have difficulty, i think is wrong
i choose to slip the odd bit of darija in now and again cos frankly its funny not because i don't know how to fully converse in darija.i also think that if we were to do this it would divide us, those that conversed in darija and those that don't understand it

![]() But when i checked the section of Darija lessons, I found many interested members, Ok, let's assume that many ppl here speak Darija, why not create a section for discussions in Darija! Those who don't speak it well can post in English if they want, The reason I suggested such a section is that we r not allowed to post everything in Darija here, so why not express ourselves freely in a special section just for Darija, it'd fun I think! Ciao
