She can feel the pain
and also the sorrow. She doesn't want to go on. So she prays for a better tomorrow. It's hard for her to cope. She'd like to runaway. In her heart she knows that she can't stay. You can see the sadness deep within her eyes. She would like to stop the madness, but instead, she just cries. She prays for strength to move ahead. To survive another day. She pleads for the courage to be brave so she can simply walk away. |

A weight falls heavily upon me -
A steady pull inside my brain. In one room I seek love and understanding - In another I purge the guilt and pain. My guilt never leaves. The pain only deepens. My life is a wild rotation from one room to the other, Locked in a ceaseless circle of torment - A game of chess I cannot win. I stand up, throat on fire, head spinning, heart pounding; Begging for an end, any end, to this hell. I gaze into the mirror, wiping my mouth, Wondering who I have become; A drawn and pale face, dull, expressionless eyes. I run my hands through my hair Hoping it will quiet the screams in my head - But it doesn't, and tomorrow the game will start again. |

A shooting at school that happened last Tuesday
April the 20th, what can we say? Two hit men with guns and explosives and all So many were shot, so many did fall. Fifteen now are dead, but thankfully no more A tragedy that shocked the world to the core. We wonder what caused this and what can we do And why the people have this to go through. An event that is on everyone's mind But a reason for this we never will find. The victims no one will ever forget And prayers will be said for a long time yet. |
