Ah Leviticus! Encoded in it are all the science of modern hygiene, hundreds of years in advance of ignorant humanity --- only within the past two centuries mankind has come to learn of the necessity of sanitation, quarantine, contamination, waste disposal, and the importance of blood for physical existence.

God is a Spirit (John 4:24).

God is holy: He emphasized this aspect several times in Leviticus. Every physical activity the people of Israel practiced has a spiritual lesson.

From Leviticus God showed the people how to approach Him in holiness. The concept of sacrifice and blood offering was completed/fulfilled in the person of Jesus on the cross, hence we no longer need a temple and Levitical service. It has served its purpose.
