So frankly I don’t give a hoot about the fact that you think that sticking to my beliefs is a sign of insecurity and instability.

You are of course entitled to your own point of view, I just wanted us to be clear on the fact that Rocam doesn’t care about it.

Mmmmmkay?
Indeed, you believe there's a Devil. You also appear to believe that he lives in the Southern states of the USA and writes crappy propaganda books. And you appear to think that rational debate can be conducted by calling someone "the devil" because they've written a book that you don't like. Of course, you too are also entitled to your view, but I just wanted us to be clear that Voltaire doesn't care for pointless name calling or infantile fantasy.

Funnily enough, I wasn't thinking you would listen to a rational argument anyway (after all, whoever put it to you would just be "the devil" or one of his agents too, right?).

It's another thing that you and that Bible thumper probably have in common...

I sure didn’t remember using any name calling. Oh, I get it, I must have hurt your feeling.

It’s obvious you are not much of a religious man because nothing you wrote corresponds to what I wanted to say. You know for someone who is taking the name of a philosopher, you are a little slow. Drop that better and smarter than thou attitude, you are not all that.

And boy how repetitive you are! Yeah, fine we deserve each other ok?? But let me say this again, I truly don’t care about your opinion.

So if you do not have anything constructive to add to the subject of this thread stay out of it. You said what you wanted to say, let’s move on

This is truly the work of Ibliss
Example of name-calling quoted above.

It seems you have a short memory as well as an extraordinarily sanctimonious and holier-than-thou manner. If the above isn't name calling (remniscent of peasants with torches at the castle gates) then what is?

As for whether or not I'm religious, of course, your next gambit would be to say words to the effect of "well you're an atheist" at me. Needless to say this is totally irrelevant to the point, and also only has any effect if you consider it a jibe to call someone non-religious. Therefore it really doesn't work.

I don't care whether you value my opinion or not. In case you hadn't noticed, the whole point of discussion boards is to discuss, and to be honest most people who post here do it from abstract interest, not because they expect people to care deeply about their posts.

BTW - frankly one doesn't have to be "all that" to outshine someone whose argumentative method is to accuse people he disagrees with of being "the devil" (or his helpers), and who then denies he's done it within a few paragraphs. Priceless.

Anyway, yes please move on Rocam - take this thread onwards in a constructive direction. After all, your opening posts were so constructive that I can hardly wait for the rest.
