Malik...
You are still misunderstanding my point.
Most Christians will not live inside the New Jerusalem or the Holy City. Think of it this way: All Moroccans in Morocco are living in Morocco, but very few Moroccans live in the palace of the king, or very few get to visit the palace. All believers will live in the New Heaven (or New Earth); but only some selected believers will live inside the Holy City; and others will get the privilege of visiting the Holy City but not live there permanently. Get the analogy? So now this old earth can hold more than six billions as of now. The New Earth too can house billions of heavenly citizens -- plus there will be no sea (21:1). So even if the New Earth is the size of our earth, it has enough space to accomodate billions and billions of people. Of course this is only for illustration, since Heaven may be a miilion times bigger than this old earth. Please don't expect all the heavenly citizens to cramp into the Holy city and fight for a spot -- that 1500 miles cube, as you put it. That is not intended. Read the scripture again. |

Some believers get heavenly robes right away as they enter heaven -- and they are on a faster track to enter the city and appear before the throne (the greatest privilege).
Others whose quality of life and works were poor spiritually will be given gowns -- and they will take years before they are ready to appear before the throne. The glory of God is so bright (21:23) that without much spiritual preparation and strength, no one will be able to approach God. That is why, on earth, when we say no one can see God and live, we mean people in the flesh cannot withstand the presence of God in its full glory. In the flesh John seems as though dead and could not move a finger when Jesus appeared to him, so John was in the spirit (1:10) and in the spirit he saw all that was revealed in the book of Revelation. |
