Question

I finished this book ages ago (i'm midway thru his second book angels and demons which is really good) and to those who know me u know im into conspiracy theories and suggestions about the unknown.......but what did all you guys think of the book?

My personal opinion: 101 brilliance% and its theories are true to an extent but there was a paper saying that the colon was not a frank-mason symbol, as said in a recent novel.
I asked a friend, to know if the history of the Sion Priory was exact, he told me that it has existed, that it probably was still alive, but that he doubted that it had ever protected any French king, and that he strongly - really really strongly - doubted that Jesus had sexual relations, even with Mary-Magdalene...but allah 3alim!!

I think fox mulder would have loved r.langdon as a companion . Btw has anyone read digital fortress? is it good? i heard mixed opinions!

BTW - There making a movie on the book which i cant wait!!!!!!!!

Talking Nothing truthful or factual about Dan Brown's book

In fact, it's as good as reading the "Left Behind" series or the "Satanic Verses".
That's how highly insulting the book is to Christians.

Thx for the link DV. I have read the O&A and just like to confirm that i knew all this and posted this not for confirmation of whether the novels are correct, but just of out interest to see what many would think.

Id like to stress that i too believe the book is based on fiction but nevertheless i do find the 'fictional' conspiracy theories fascinating.

His fifth book thats in the making will be based in the u.s and yet to enlighten another conspiracy theory - non relioius this time. angels and demons is about the vatican.

I want aliens though!!

You're welcome moroccanchica...

However, it is because of such books, that cause and stir lots of conspiracy theories that are not factual and do not exist.

Sad to say, there are even a few Christians who think such books are good for reading simply because they do not share the Catholic faith or are hostile to the Vatican.
Yet, are oblivious to the facts when it swings deep into the heart of Christianity by discrediting His divinity, proclaiming Jesus' "marriage" and others.

Such authors can claim to be "Christians", because they know it gives them a certain leverage so it attracts not just the skeptics, but Believers as well as non-Christians.
They could care less about another's faith or religion.
Their primary concern is how to market their "product".

Eg: Bible Code, Satanic Verses, The True Furqan, Left Behind, etc.

Errr D_V...

Whatever else you may think of Rapture Christians (and as we know, you and I both have our views on this ), Left Behind is hardly a series of books written by someone trying to discredit Jesus' divinity. Quite the opposite in fact.

You are quite correct VP, it is a series of books that was written in an effort to put in the mind of the masses the Evangelical understanding of the Apocolypse.

And concerning the 'Code', which I have not read, I have heard from a few history scholors that say there are swiss-cheese holes in the 'facts' of the book.
But I do hope that it is a good read.

Errr voltaires_priest, i did say...

"Sad to say, there are even a few Christians who think such books are good for reading simply because they do not share the Catholic faith or are hostile to the Vatican...and others."

And it has become a full-blown industry. Many Evangelists now use the revealing attitudes of the Left Behind authors to market their brand of Christianity, not even aware of the fallacies that lie within the contents of the series.
