I am pleased to hear that. I hope something like that happens in Iran as well. Unlikely but I hope so. I think for Turkey they kinda have to; the must do all they can to get into the EU. I do not think it is out of the concern of their heart.
Now if they can remove that facist Ata Türk's picture from basicly everywhere I think that would be great.

umm everyone keeps talking about religion.
Has anyone actually sat down and listened to the people whose houses were bombed by Israel? or those whose lands were stolen?. As to the history of the Jews? well one can only goe back to David(pbuh) time and see who were the real owner of that Land. VP Phalestinians are not all muslims. there are JEWS Arabs(Jews' cousins ) and Christians Isn't it time to put religion aside and give the poor people their land back ?. One Day everyone will be responding to the real Judge above us so lets hope those who killed the innocents will be able to explain it to God |

Malik, with the information I have, I disagree with your comments and agree with V_P observations. The present government of Turkey is finally an Islamist government and they are taking huge risks in adopting certain policies to the great displeasure of the Kemalist Military. I would say the Kemalist generals are tolerating the policies of the Islamist government only because they want to see an integration into the EU. However that is not the motivation for the Islamist Turkish government. V_P's post is also in line with the original topic of the thread. That is, the Islamist government has dealt with tolerance with its Kemalist military nemesis. Unlike the Islamists in Algeria who were poised to win the elections, the Islamist in Turkey have adopted a different style of non-violence, patience and perseverence to bring about a change even when they were kicked out of government and jailed after comming in power the first time. |

Yes, there has to be a just settlement. The question is how to do it in a way that is just for all concerned. ![]() V
