In recent, moslems have used this word to demonize entire societies which they view as enemies, leading to acts of hatred and murder. But the concept of sheytan/satan cannot and should not be applied to nations,Khomeini was a big fool and a sinner for having mislead so many muslims into beleiving they could do this. Sheytan/satan is a kind of force that we all have within us, and that seduces Man away from the path of God.

Well, the likes of Khomeini sees only external religious rules and dos and don'ts. America being a country with individual rights and extensive freedoms, the media exploits human interests by showing movies that depicts human desires and failings in the area of sex. Seeing such superfifal exposures, religious people often think America is too loose with morals. Which emboldens them in self-righteous mode and hastily labels America a great Satan. Just an example.

In the movie Osama, the Taliban chided a woman for showing her feet, which might arouse somebody. On this excuse, her right to move freely as she wish is curtailed.

I recently read a news about Iranian young people so frustrated and so bored they don't know what to do -- and nowhere to go for fun and entertainment. The country is controlled by the Mullahs who in the name of religion violates the rights of others so they can stay in power.

Jer, I know you believe differently, but let me tell you, Satan uses religion to blind people and keep people from true joy.

The evil spirits tries to lure people in the wrong path and keep them there. In some cases, if excuse is given (such as ouija board, psychic, etc) these spirits come and live within a person. Such a person is called possessed.

Some people who cannot help but hate may be controlled by the spirit of hatred. Or fear. Or lust, etc. Just an example. Also some suicides are caused by spirits of suicide.

You are some joker! Iranians are bored...... Man! These people know how to party and they will! In their homes! They don't care about any mullah or sheikh. They love the good life. And good for them!
I don't know where you live, but look up some Iranians in your city and let them show you what fun is. American Iranians go back home all the time, even those whose families sided with the Shah. You think they would even consider going back home if some mullah could chop off their feet for dancing on some House music?

Hey MLK, if the Iranian youth are happy and having fun, then power to them. I just read a report, that's all. But I'm aware they're not happy with the theocratic form of government dictated by some Mullahs.

The problem with you guys is that you believe anything that comes to you. Just because Dr X or President Y says so does not mean it's true. there are people who are happier at home and amount their friends and familly and other women who dress far better than others but keep them to the one who deserve them that is the husband not outsiders, there are also women who are very pretty but refuse to sell themselves to the media.
Another things a True Muslim does not need a man to teach him or her how to follow God.
Finally regarding Satan. satan is the evil part in a person we associate satan to evil because if that person follows God he or she would not cause pain and suffering.
