I don't think it's depend only on the new leadership. Great part must do Sharon if the occupation goes on and if the wall stay up and if palestinian home go down -- it will be difficult for a new palestinian leadership organizes a new Palestine.
Palestinians people haven't never chosen to live in poverty!!

Peace

That may have been a fairy tale under Yasser Arafat, know that he is out of the way, let us wait and see what new leadership can do. Too soon to tell.
Jer you seem to pick what you want and leave what you do not like.
The constitution of Isreal does allow people the freedom to follow their religion on paper but let's look at the reality many christians Arabs have been targetted and bullied by the Zionists. you may be speaking of Honest jews those who consider Israel to be illegal and are there because of culture but the zionists have no interest in other religions but toward the Jews.
Face the truth if that was the case why Muslims can not pray freely in Israel ???? and don't ask me to provide facts just go to your local Amnesty international offices and ask to see vivid pictures of the sufferings.

That is a matter of opinion, the vast majority of Jews disagrees with this view, myself included. The State is also recognized by the UN, although there are disputed areas.
Having said that, I can tell you that I respect all peaceful faiths, and have criticized any abuses by the Israel government or anyone else towards peaceful practicioners and will continue to do so.

The day people will realise religion and politics are two complete different things, then will exist the day that silence will prevail on earth...

You're talking about seperation of Church and State, can this ever happen in the ME? Often, the Jewish and Islamic religions coincide with politics. This is why no formal constitution has been written in Israel, so as not to offend the religious parties who advocate the primacy of Torah in the political and legal realms. And in the arab world, Islam will always be an obstacle to the legitimacy of a secular State, there may be periods of quiet but bombs will eventually go off in protest against "heretic" arab regimes. I am reminded of the open opposition of the Egyptian Islamists to Mubarak.

No, im talking about the distinction between politics and religion. As for the church and the state....well that depends in what decade are you living in?

I do not oposite the state of Israel if justice was done.UN is irelevant when dealing with Tourat and Thalmud.
The Jews, Muslims and christians lived side by side for centuries and it was the jews who helped Morocco to defend the dignity of Morocco on many occasions and still live as brothers regadless of what goes on elsewhere but the Jews I spoked to on many occasions being Moroccan or English think that those conservatives and ortodox have their disagreement on the matter
