Topic of the week.

I thought as both UK and Morocco both have a Royal family we could use this as a topic to discuss.

Do you think it's a good or bad thing to have a Royal family? Are they worth the money they cost from our taxes?

On balance I think the UK benefits by having a Royal family, and I don't mind contributing for their upkeep. However I think the extended Royals should earn their own money and pay for their own upkeep. I think the Queen is a good tourist attraction and on the whole is well thought of. They also support and do a lot for charities oh their choice. So I like them.

I don't know much about the Moroccan Royal family other than the fact they look very lovely in photographs. Maybe any moroccans could give me a better idea of how they are viewed.

Ring of Power

It seems that most people see the British Royal family as mere figureheads (as you say, tourist attractions), but I came across this YouTube video called Ring of Power, which reveals some very interesting information about the power and influence of the Royal family - especially Queen Elizabeth II.
Did you know that the city of London is actually a corporation and not part of the UK as such - like Vatican City? So is Washington DC - it is not part of any of the American states and is directly overseen by the federal government. According to this video there is a handful of people running the world, with Washington as the head of military power, the Vatican as the center of religion, and London as the commercial power.
Also the Federal Reserve of American is not owned or run by the government, but is a corporation that lends the government money.
It could just be a conspiracy theory - but then again, maybe not
Either way, it was very interesting.

I don't know anything about the Moroccan Royal Family, but as usual we can rely on Wikipedia to fill us in...

Good old wiki...I wonder if the King of Morroco is at all worried about the unrest in the neighbouring countries. I understand he is generally popular with the moroccan people, but there is some dissatisfaction with the level of corruption within some areas of the government. Maybe this would be a good time to make some changes if they are needed.

On my visits to morocco it seems to be that there is a wide divide between the rich and poor. I think more could and should be done to help the poorer members of society.
