Just a Morocco dot com veteran saying HI

Wow the internet came long ways since I first joined Morocco dot com back in the early millennium... This is my first peak after God knows how long, I wonder if the old cast is still alive!

Hi Rainbow, don't know about the old cast being alive, but the new cast are pretty quiet also... with the exception maybe of myself and Witchqueen. LOL:

Hope you stick around it would be nice to get to know about your experiences of Morocco and what brought you here many moons ago.

Hi

What brought me here in 2001 was the absolute lack of social sites where you get to talk to other Moroccans fi blad el ghorba mainly (the internet in Morocco was just getting started and accessibility to it was pretty much for business firms and a few cyber cafes). Well, now in the face-book age I don't see why would anyone want to stick around! The world is moving at a very fast pace and interaction with people has to be fast too. That's something face-book provides. Who wants to keep just posting in forums and checking back in a couple of days to see what other people had to say? i don't. But back in the day there wasn't many alternatives and I don't do chat rooms. I do miss a few people that I used to talk to in this forum, examples like: Ibnbatoota/ Nadia/ Lilly/ Simple from Texas/ Pepperonipizza/ and few others.

True internet has come a long way in a relatively short time. I only use facebook to keep in touch with close friends, don't use chat rooms. I joined here as I wanted to find out more about Morocco as a country to visit as I haven't been there yet..but plan to. I thought I would be able to get some first hand knowledge from Moroccans but althougth I did glean a bit of information, on the whole they seem a quiet people.

Don't recognise any of the names in your post so I expect they have all gone on to bigger and better things Have a nice day.

Not endorsing Facebook persay, but they re a few active groups that'll keep you informed of what's going on in Morocco, the good, the bad and of course the ugly.
