Mauritania expects 26.9 per cent growth in 2006

Mauritania should register 26.9 per cent economic growth this year, according to an Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development survey released at the weekend in Paris. The 2005-2006 Economic Perspectives in Africa Survey noted the country will build on the current oil exports and oil prices on the international market. The current output of 75,000 barrels per day is expected to quadruple in the next 18 months. (Pana)
