I missed the beginning - but did manage to watch most of it - it was hard to watch the scientists trying to come up with the answer to why they crawled and could not stand up right- when the answer was there all along. I knew why that was the case and was surprised that the professionals had not realised what had kept those people from walking - it was the environment, poverty and the fact that the siblings had never had any treatment to better their condition and make it more conventional (as in the use of walking aids, wheelchairs etc) - thus they had adapted themselves in order to get around - There are many people like that in Maroc and other developing countries.. not just in Turkey. I did not find it as unusual or as exceptional to how the docs were trying to make it out to be, even having arguments about it!

I saw 2 minutes and switched over. Am not a fan of these types of programmes. Like Mimi said, the answer was clear from the beginning. You just feel that programme makers take advantage of people in order to gain viewers

yes - I agree - there was actually a point in the making of the programme that the Turkish Authorities were going to stop the filming and the investigation - as it is against the law to insult Turkey - cos' the locals had found the whole aspect of the scientists comparing the family to apes, a bit too much to handle - I actually don't blame them. Apart from the similarity of the way they moved about - they came up with nothing scientific to suggest that those people had been born with bodies that our ancestors had evolved from.
