I think Tihad's intentions are for our own good however his approach maybe perceived as preach-like to some.
I think to guide others you should personally know them. It's 3 times you try to guide others (as quoted in the quran?) and if they fail to listen you should just pray for them. I think people get turned off by constant droning, noone listens, and your good intentions just whisked away. Being diplomatic and a listener guides people more then being just black and white.
