Orfi Marriage

I want to do this question because I don't know how is in every Arabic country.

In Egypt there is ORFI MARRIAGE.
This marriage type is a way for to live togethere, but it is not a true marriage, It is a papier for cohabitation.
It is not valid in European countries, but only in Egypt.
It will be valid only if you will go in Cairo to recorder it, otherwise, when you are out of Egypt, it is not valid.

Egy men can do it with more foreigner women, but they can do it also with egy women.

Is there this type of marriage also in other Arabic countries ?


I'm just courious about this.

No there isn't.

Don't be mislead by the name. An orfi marriage is not a marriage. It is a document drawn up by lawyers between a gawria and a local masri dude so they can privately rent an appartment together. A luvvvvvnest so to speak

This is not really the place to ask such questions. Many Moroccans do not have any bonding with Masr? I'm sure if you google you can find loads of forums that discuss these kind of things.

Is not my intention to speak about Orfi.
My question was only about if it is also in other Arabic countries.
I know what is Orfi, so I needn't go on net to speak about.

Another thing : I'm glad Orfi there isn't in Morocco : this show me that Morocco people is serious about marriage.

Orfi marriages aren't legally recognised in Morocco. Having said that, I have heard of uni students entering into them so they can have some 'halal hanky-panky' without the other responsibilities of marriage

I've known couples who've lived together outside marriage. In a big city, noone knows you so it isn't hard

Nowadays nobody back home in Morocco gives a ***** if you are living together, unmarried. My thoughts are that when a Moroccan guy says to a gawria that there need to be a marriage per say, he just wants to 7rag
