Question Did anyone watch 'Gay Muslims' on ch4 lastnite...?

...It was on around 8pm and it was all bout the secret lives of gay muslims in our community...what surprised me was one guy called Adnan Ali was openely admittin he was gay and wanted to show his face etc, where as the other ppl in the documentary wanted there identities disguised....

Adnan was plannin a weddin to his 'partner' and everythin and they wanted soura read out at the ceromony and everythin...

One guy was married for 10 yrs and came out bout 8yrs ago or so and now hes bein dnied access to his children which i feel is sad, as the think that he will 'infect' His children into being gay....

Stafirallah ou safi....

Jus wondered if anyone else saw it...?

I saw a bit of it, it was very interesting! I also felt sorry for the guy who is denied access from seeing his kids like being gay is catchy

It was very interestin indeed, but what made me choke up the most is when at the end that young guy said that in 5 yrs time hes gonna be married - to a lady, he jus couldnt face the humilition and trouble that would come with comin out openly...and he would jus rather live a lie for the rest of his life...i felt so sorry for him so much....

I didn't see that part, I kept flicking over... thats sad, but muslims must realise that there are gay men married with families and living a lie everywhere, even in Saudi

Christians, Jews or Hindus are just plain gays but when it’s a Muslim who is concerned, we just never seem to get rid of the word “Muslim”.

That's not strictly true in this case, Rocam - there's been a lot of specific coverage of the gay issue in various religions on British TV. Especially in the Anglican and Catholic Churches.

I believe there's even a "gay vicars" documentary planned by the same team that made this documentary.

V,

This comment doesn’t simply apply to this subject. I am overall annoyed by the media’s use of the word Muslim. Muslim this, Muslim that!! It gets frustrating after a while...
