Ex-US president Bush on visit to Morocco

Rabat, Morocco, 12/18 - Former US president George Herbert Walker Bush, father of the current American leader George Bush, arrived here Friday on a private visit to Morocco that will last a few days, reliable source said here Saturday.

Bush has already met King Mohammed VI in Rabat and was luncheon guest of the Moroccan monarch, the sources told PANA.

Bush, 81, was President of the US from 1989 to 1993.

During his long political career, he was ambassador of his country to the UN.

Last Friday, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan named him UN special envoy to co-ordinate help efforts after the earthquake in Pakistan
