Islam's perception...humm. I think that since Islam came to protect the basics of life and as health is one of them; it's allowed to use contraception although it's very recommended to have more children to strengthen the Muslim Community (Al Umma) . I think it's halal (allowed), I don't see why it would be haram (forbidden)
