I wasn't surprised about all this because already when there was the first Iraq war, on Italian newspapers there were article and pics about burned people in strange way and already at that time, the newspaper was speaking about the use of chemical arms....

After, if we go to see in the past, we can to remember what happen in Vietnam and...Hiroshima.....I think the history speak alone......

When I think of chemical weapons, things like mustard gas, chlorine, assorted nerve gasses, etc. come to mind. I guess if we want to get technical about it, tear gas is a chemical weapon.

The US Defence Department apparently counted WP as a chemical weapon when Saddam was using it on the Kurds. Buncha bloody commies that they are

The "ra ra this a left wing pacifier buncha lies" routine is really stale btw. The US right wing's record on this issue is a load of bollocks and everybody knows it. First of all the justifications for war:

1) They claimed Saddam was behind 9/11. He wasn't.

2) A more dilute version of the first plank, The "Baathist-Al Qaeda link" prior to Iraq war two, used as a second justification for war. Also now known to be a load of cods.

3) WMDs. Hahahahaa....

4) The "dossier" which apparently involved rather a lot of Google searching and nicking info from someone's PhD thesis.

5) The "45 minute threat". Also not true.

6) "Saddam is an evil oppressor and we must get rid of him". Notwithstanding that if he was still willing to kiss arse we'd have left him in power, just like the Al-Sauds, Mubarak, Karimov, and all of the dictators who we aren't going to remove...

And these were just the justifications for war. We then got the grandstanding and claims of victory a couple of months into the conflict, now also shown to be wishful thinking at best, and a lie at worst.

So finally, when someone produces footage of people who have suffered desperately from chemical attacks using white phosphorous, the conservative movement attempts to deflect it by claiming WP isn't a chemical weapon... because it's not DDT or nerve gas?
