Yes Morocco helped Algeria in its war of liberation from France in many ways and mainly through the use of its territory. Algeria was and is grateful for this help although Morocco went on to spoil things by invading and claiming a part of western Algeria just after our independence in 1963. Algerians fighting like the real lions they are (not like those Mickey Mouse Atlas lions) managed to kick the Moroccan asses out of Algeria in no time. Unfortunately this had left a legacy of suspicion between the two countries and it'll take a long time (well after the Western Sahara conflict is resolved) before trust can be re-established between Morocco and Algeria.

SOunds like the india - pakistan feud. Sad to know that morocco got its independance only in 1963 from the dirty rule of the french. More sad the french language is so much into morocco and the laws too same like in france.

Ahlam,

Morocco got its independence in 1956 and Algeria got hers in 1962. The conflict between Morocco and Algeria took place in 1963 and is referred to as the "Sand war".

What have you got against the French language? In my opinion, it is the best thing the French have left for Moroccans and Algerians.
