Do you find the Muslim beard attractive ?

I hate to say this , but I personally find it ugly and scary.

I understand it is a SUNNAH to let the beard grow but I really don't see any sense of aesthetic beauty in that at all.

What do you think ? Let's hear it from the ladies .

Why label it “Muslim” beard?? Last time I checked Christians and Jews grow beards too. Have you ever seen an Arab priest?? An orthodox Jew??

Lmouhim, Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam that Ata ibn Yasar told him that the Messenger of Allah was in the mosque when a man came in with disheveled hair and beard. The Messenger of Allah motioned with his hand that he should be sent out to groom his hair and beard. The man did so and then returned. The Messenger of Allah said, "Isn't this better than that one of you should come with his head disheveled, as if he were a shaytan?"

I understand that someone who doesn’t keep it that way may look unattractive. But according to the Sunnah, men are supposed to keep it looking nice and neat.

Rocam,

Yes, I know Jews, orthodox christians and even hindu and sikhs all grow beards as well but since we are in a Moroccan forum I am only interested in Muslims. Also because Islam is , in theory, supposed to be the TRUE religion from GOD , I find it contradictory as ALLAH IS BEAUTIFUL.

Remember : ALLAHU JAMIL YU7HIBBU AL JAMAL .

You are displaying quite a bit of shallowness, are you not? (And there is no lack of that on this board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whahaha) Don't you have more mindboggling issues to ponder on?

Go ahead then, O great Malika - tell us what we should be debating at this time

Although actually on the topic, I think beards can look good on some people and bad on others. They particularly don't suit women, but on some men they can look positively distinguished

Also, like Rocam said, beards aren't just a Muslim thing. When I was a student I had one for a while.
