What do others think about something like this happening?

IF Algeria is an islamic country that follow Sharia in full then serves them right and people who travel there should know the law very well and there is nothing new about it its called respect of local laws. if a person decide to eat in front of others then serves them right , however if the they were inside the restaurant and the restaurant have a licence to serve the food then they must be released ASP because

Do not worry about those whom hell is their destiny etc.. treat them right and they shall meet God who will judge them accordingtly etc....

I think the courts are wrong because there is no such sharia

Exactly T, there is no such sharey3 law that says anything about the compulsion of fasting Ramadhan. Actually one of the first things that you learn when taking sharey3 studies. Why is it that some of these so-called religious cats can't even get the basics of Islam?

If fasting is a way for you to be closer to God, then you should concern yourself with your own relationship with God. Why must it be forced on others? This is just more intolerence from the Muslim community. Send someone to jail for eating? That is catastrophically idiotic!

but you know, eating at a restaurant in Algeria druing ramadan is a big thing, its not about breaking your fast or anything as you may come across people who smoke druing ramdan in Algeria but its about respect to the holly month and to the people who fast....


I think rather then sending those guys to jail, they should have fined them

Thats outrageous! You'd probably lose a finger if you were caught eating in Saudi Arabia
