Ambassador hails Moroccan-British historic relationships

The Moroccan ambassador in the United Kingdom, Mohamed Belmahi, hailed on Sunday the excellent relations that have reigned for centuries between Morocco and Britain.

“Morocco and Britain have always maintained their alliance since the reign of Queen Elisabeth I,” underlined the Moroccan ambassador in a documentary broadcast on Sunday by the British channel Channel 4.

Prepared by Anila Baig, a Muslim journalist in the British tabloid The Sun, the documentary traces back the relations between Islam and Britain that started centuries ago.

Shot in the area where the July 7 attacks on London took place, the documentary aims at clearing up the confusion between Islam and terrorism and dissipating the fears that resulted from the attacks.
