At the end of the day, Spain & the rest of Europe should stand up and take responsibility. Pay for camps or Morocco will continue to deport. African immigrants are not being treated any worse than we'd treat our own citizens trying to 'escape'. Why should our country pay to keep people waiting to cross over the sea?? The French couldn't deal with Sangatte so how can we deal with all these??
We cannot afford it & we have no duty towards these people as they are not claiming asylum or seeking our protection. We are a convenient stepping stone to Europe that's all. It may sound harsh but they've got a cheek......

I'm not defending the Moroccan Govt. Raz. Is doesn't say beatings on the article I posted but I wouldnt be surprised if they were beaten during the deportation process. As for gun shots - they shoot at anyone in the water at night whether they are white, black, moroccan or even blue. It is wrong & indefensible but when you arrive in a country, you have to respect the laws you find there. As disgusting as Morocco may treat people, its the way they run it. I think some of these people forget that they are still in Africa being dealt with by fellow Africans and the treatment is never going to be good. We all know the drill......... no surprises that people are being treated badly.

My point is that the EU needs to deal with this. Even if the Moroccans were inclined to treat immigrants well (which of course they are not because as we all know, human rights only exist in theory ), the country cannot afford to run camps. Plus they wouldnt be refugee camps as noone wants to claim asylum in Morocco because they want to live in Europe. Why would an administration with an arguably low interest in human rights & limited resources house thousands of immigrants?

I agree that the EU should stump up the funds
