Absolutely. I second that a moderator can not ever become personal to a member of a forum, not postively personal and most certainly not in a negative way. It sort of defeats the whole idea of being impartial.

There is a difference between saying:

we do not tolerate opinions such as yours

or

shut up

It's long accepted practice on these forums that moderators have opinions and they're allowed to express them. That's the way it does work, and the way it's always worked.

If you would like to do it a different way, you are of course free to volunteer to mod these boards.

As for my jibes at NAK, someone who serially breaks VCI use policy on incitement, racial hatred and personal attacks as frequently as he does, is lucky he isn't on and off this board like it's a revolving door. You may think he's someone with integrity and a particular viewpoint (or whatever it was you said on that other thread) but his racist views, including but not exclusively his anti-semitism, are not acceptable. As a result, he gets the occasional jab from me when he steps out of line. It's notable that you have objected to this, but he hasn't.

As for telling people to "shut up" - if I wanted him to "shut up" it would be perfectly possible to have him banned, for the umpteenth time, from this site. There is certainly sufficient grounds to have done so. I may not have signed up for cuddle-a-nazi day, but I think even you would have to concede this point.
