LOL, well I guess we all had one too many as students or whatever, you and I included . But nevertheless, I never assaulted anyone even during my "wild youth", and I'm sure you never did either.

There's no justification for assault and battery, or rape, or any such offense. I don't care if the victim (or the assailant) had necked all the Vodka in the Eastern Bloc. Prosecute the assailants, and throw the book at 'em.

And BTW, for the same reason I also don't think that these stats are a justification for limiting people's freedom of behavioral choice. After all, it remains true the vast majority of rapes in the UK (for instance) are not done by strangers (in bars or anywhere else), but by "friends" or members of the victim's family.

The real way to reduce rape figures is to encourage women to report violent husbands, or children to report abusive parents, to the police. And for such reports to be handled sensitively and properly by the authorities.

I did offer a partial solution (in my last para), but my point is that I don't think the figures show the root of the problem with rape etc, which is about power and bullying, not about any percieved immorality on the part of the victim.

Any studies about men and alcohol???? I know most of us got worst than that.... Tihad how many times u woke up next to a woman who looked just like a donkey, maybe worst don't lie, I know it happened to every drunk man after a twelve pack any woman look sexy, but the next morning, you can't believe your eyes I still get some nightmares from those experiences
