Over 8 million night guests up to July 2005 in Morocco
Rabat, Aug.30 - Morocco hosted 8.75 million night guests up to July 2005, i.e. an increase of 19% compared to the same period of 2004, according to the ministry of Tourism.
Marrakech witnessed the most important tourism activities (+34%), followed by Meknès (+23%), Rabat (+17%), Fez (+16%), Agadir (+12%) and Ouarzazate (+12%).
The most important markets involved in this increase are Moroccan tourism strategic markets notably French, English, Spanish, Belgium and German markets.
The occupation rate was 47%, compared to 42% for the same period in 2004. This increase is the fruit of a demand increase of 16%.
