FREE OUR MOROCCAN POWs NOW PROTEST
The American Moroccan community in Washington, DC will be holding a protest and a vigil in remembrance and support of Moroccan Prisoners of War detained in the Tindouf prisons of Algeria.
This protest will take place on Friday July 1st, 2005 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am in front of the Algerian Embassy in Washington DC at :
2118 Kalorama Rd, NW. (Connecticut Ave and Kalorama RD)
This protest will be held to bring attention to the situation of the prisoners detained for more than two decades in violation of international conventions and humanitarian law.
Moroccan prisoners, who are considered "the world's longest-held POWs", are enduring a grave inhuman situation that needs immediate public attention.
We invite and encourage all American Moroccans, as well as all peace-loving people to participate in this protest to ask for an end to this tragedy that has been going on for 25 years, in total violation of international law and
the Geneva conventions.
