Salam
Has anyone seen the documentary on M2TV yesterday? It was talking about the poor Moroccan families who had great lives in Iraq and lost everything. They had been mistreated by both sides from Criminal Iraqies to American bombings. One would say well the Governement would do everything to resecue its citizans like what most countries do in crises. well these people were promissed a flight back and housing jobs etc... at soon as they arrived in Morocco, depending where they used to live most if not all were put in shelters , for those who do not know let me explain to you what the shelters look like: A large hall with separated partitions made up of curtain types and they were told they only had to stay 2 days. 2 years later they were still there and all they were given was 1000DH a month which is bearly enough to buy school books and clothing. everytime they complain they were told the foreign ministry did its job and it is up to the Governement, the governement gave them Guarantees that they would be housed and would be getting jobs and it is up to the LOcal Coucil and the Governement has no power to force local councils to do their Jobs. Further more many of the people had Great Jobs and Businesses and because of the War they lost evidence to back their claims and to add salt to the wounds, many had their degrees etc.. but was not recognised by Morocco and were waiting for the Moroccan embassy to validate the comparassion of Degrees that is 2 years now. All those poor Moroccans are the victims of Moroccan governement retarded beaurocracy One Guy who had a great Job back In Iraq is now peeling Potatoes in a remoted area of Morocco ZAGORA for $2 a day And you guys wanted to move back to Morocco????? ![]() I hate this actions by the Moroccan Governement it is so sick and reatarded, at one time they promissed a family that they would give them a peace of land and 3 million centimes to build the house and would sign a form to give up all claims but later on they droped their offer and said they was no such offer made a typital Moroccan lies ![]() Yet when it comes to Sahara they are paying people thousands of dollars a month and they don't even work a system created by Hassan 2 (system called Phontom employees) and when it comes to real sufferings no one cares except the local people who are very generious and do their best to help as to the Governement they are sitting at thier backsides laughing at poor people ![]() I understand that Morocco is not the only country with these problems. A Muslim British Citizian lost his money and wallet in Morocco and went to the British embassy for help and they told him to get lost when he comaplained they called the police and the police arrested him and later released him and then he sat ouside the embassy with the Quran in his hands begging for some change. But if that person was here in the Uk he would be getting some proper treatment |

If this story was given real coverage in the UK or US as the unmasking of hypocracy in Morocco then there would a quick turn abouts of change for the people in this situation. Its very unfortunate but the only thing the government are concerned with are money and tourists. If it will affect either of them they will sort it quick smart.

It is really sad and unbelievable to treat moroccan people like that."SHUMA".I do believe like SISTA that the government is more interested in bringing money through tourism.Thesepeople should be treated with more respect after working so hard in Irak, specially after losing everything they had. They don't deserve to live like this!

What do you expect? This isn't the only incident. People do not care about the plight of others. Where is human kindness??? Many people who lost their homes following the earthquake in Northern Morocco are still homeless. Where did all the donated money disappear to? Greedy thieving officials bank accounts that's where.
Heads need to roll on various levels of the government service. From the 3del who forces people to pay his 'fee' before he marries them to the director who ciphons off untold dirhams from public projects. Corruption & bribery. Absolutely disgusting. It's the disease which is eating the heart of our country. Big action is needed from the TOP. Fresh blood brought in. Anyone at any level who is known to be corrupt is sacked (& not transferred). Have a freephone line like the one they have here to shop benefit fraudsters ![]() ![]() Fear of being sacked, having bank accounts frozen, AND prosecution is a start I think. |

Dear Friends,
I still wonder when the moroccan government will wake up & change the proceedures n beauracratic red tape in various of its agencies. Still all of thier Embassies n consulates abroad make it so difficult to obtain a tourist visa. In case of my daughter (only 7 months old), I have been asked to produce around 6 documents for a visa...Including a police clearance from my embassy ???? (what criminal record does a toddler will have)....is it logical... She is going to visit her mother's country with her mother..... This is what makes me wonder.....n happy...I am not one of thier subjects who are asked to produce a birth certificate with every file submitted...when the ID mentions the date of birth clearly.. If only the papers n documents needed are mentioned in front of the government clearly...then one knows where n how to go from there...BUT alas...they are not. & this makes inroads to Bribe/lateness n various activities.
